Beat 4 of the bosses, 4 of the games (not including DMC3 since it was the special edition). Alma in Ninja Gaiden was a pain in the ass.
I think the difficulty in Dark Souls is very overrated, though. It's really just a matter of learning the difficulty curve, then you're all set. Also...Ornstein and Smough? Not sure why this fight seems so hard for so many people. Just go to a far end of the room, let Ornstein attack you, counter, then run and repeat by the time Smough catches up. You'll get punished if you're too greedy with attacks, but such is the same for just about any Souls boss.
Contra seems overrated in difficulty, too. With enough practice, the patterns are fairly easy to memorize, and you can eventually one-life the whole game with the Spread gun. Something like R-Type or [insert shmup here] seems much more demanding than Contra.
Contra and Dark Souls just seem more infamous than hard.
Now, Ghouls N' Ghosts...this and Ghosts N' Goblins have made me their bitch. Beat the game twice? Hell, I can't even beat Ghosts N' Goblins once. I can't even reach the final boss...the two Satans right beforehand always kick my ass, even if I try fighting them one at a time. This and Battletoads are very, very hard games. And I won't even attempt to try a game like Ikaruga because looking at it just scares me.
