Yep, the Morris are related to the Belmonts through Trevor. They are also descendants of Sypha. Confirmed in this family tree:

I was curious about the name Morris so I looked it up. Here's the info:

This famous surname is popular in all the counties of the British Isles. It is however arguably French, and as such derives from the personal name "Maurice", itself from the Latin word "maurus" meaning moorish, or dark and swarthy. Why would the spelling be incorrect, though?  Wouldn't it have just evolved over the hundreds of years since Trevor and Sypha... it even mentions how the spelling of various surnames has changed in the info that you posted.

Another question is: when did the Morris line move to the New World?  In Bram Stoker's Dracula, Quincey is from Texas, after all, and John Morris in Bloodlines is said to have been born in Texas as well.  Did they emigrate before they were given the Vampire Killer whip and were 'called back' to take custodianship of it?  Did they travel to America after being entrusted with the whip?

Also, what is the '1887' entry in the above family tree?  The events of the Dracula novel?

Yes, but it's probably a misprint OR it got retconned later, because the most recent timeline does list this event as 1897, and not 1887 - UNLESS another information is being transmited here. But Quincy's name is mentioned.

"1914" is also not correct for Castlevania Bloodlines. However it IS the year that Elizabeth Bartley got resurrected and plotted the war. So it's not entirely wrong.

Thanks Plottwist - I didn't even notice the 1914 date discrepancy!  Coincidentally, I just finished Bloodlines earlier today, so I was already thinking about it's plot details.

I always assumed they immigrated to the US. The Dracula novel mentions a one-liner about Quincy having skills of a hunter or something to this effect.

Also "Johnny" Morris is how they wrote his name in Castlevania: The New Generation which is the Japanese version of Bloodlines isn't it.

Might be the EU version actually. The NA got Bloodlines and I believe it was titled Vampire Killer in JP.
