Resident Evil 7 will be completely forgoing cutscenes, which is a stark contrast to RE6, which had over four hours worth of cutscenes. Like games like Half-Life or Outlast (HEY LOOK ANOTHER OUTLAST COMPARISON), you will have complete control over your character at all times, seeing the game completely from their view. Now let's just hope our protagonist isn't a silent protagonist cuz that'll be fuckin' boring.

On another note, they also received a lot of negative feedback about the game's VR mode at E3, with people calling it "nauseating". Capcom has taken note of this and is completely reworking the VR system.

That's a very good thing. Capcom could get into a lot of trouble (and not just sales' wise) if they don't address such issues.

Exactly. Right now, the VR peripheral is a HUGE selling point for this game. I've seen several people online state they're going out of their way to get PSVR specifically for this game. If it's biggest selling point, the VR, wasn't working, that would be horribly detrimental to this game both critically and commercially.

Right now, though, all I want is for them to reveal some actual info about this game. With Gamescom coming up, I'm hoping we'll actually get some decent gameplay videos and maybe a trailer that actually shows off bits of the game's plot. Maybe some info on our new protagonist would be nice.

New in-game screenshots were released on the Resident Evil Facebook page. I'm not sure whether you need to log in or not to see them. The game's graphics are noticeably a lot nicer than the original demo's, and a shotgun was confirmed as a usable weapon (which brings the weapon roster up to a hatchet and shotgun). Still doesn't really look like RE, but it looks a lot nicer than its original reveal.

Scratch that, a whole new blog post was posted on Capcom Unity, showcasing a new trailer and details about the game.

ESRB has rating the game M for Mature. Summary reveals details about the game previously unknown.

-You'll have access to quite the arsenal of weapons, similarly to all RE games. These include pistols, shotguns, flamethrowers, explosives, and chainsaws.
-Heavy graphic violence is to be featured. Dismemberment is back, and likely in full-force for the first time since RE4 (after RE5 and RE6 were heavily censored in the gore department). These include a sequence of your protagonist receiving a shovel through the face and an area full of disemboweled corpses.
-Strong language will be featured in the game. Not surprising, considering language has become stronger since RE4 and notably in RE5.
-The protagonist is named Ethan, who has come to the dilapidated mansion searching for his wife (who is likely the woman running from the creature in the Lantern demo). There is a cult-like family that shares a sorted past.

We'll likely receive more info during TGS, or late September when Capcom reveals the purpose of the Dummy Finger.

I wonder if you can hold a lot more then the standard 3x3 item menu. I wish they would bring back the RE4 weapons case at least that had more item storage.

The inventory in the Beginning Hour demo was eight spaces. Two down, four across. And then you have four equipment slots, each assigned to a D-Pad direction. I'm guessing this is what they're going to be using. Some items actually take more than one slot, like the bolt cutters took up two slots.

I'm guessing we're keeping the eight spaces like in the demo, with the option of getting a side-pack later like in classic REs. One thing worth mentioning is that the protagonist in the demo was just an ordinary guy, and Ethan will likely be the same. Just regular clothes. No gun belts or belt pouches, etc. The way they're handling it currently works for a guy who just tries to fit everything in his pockets and stuff.

Yeah, Capcom is reeeeeeally not showing off much about this game. Their latest news shows off the pre-order bonuses, which is just a bunch of booster packs to kick off your playthrough (which I will no doubt not even use). But they did, however, confirm that there will be no microtransactions. So that's good.

See below image for source.

TGS 2016 trailer! And... wow. Color me impressed. This game actually looks REALLY good!

Also, the Deluxe Edition received an update, in that another story episode is being included with it. However, the price is now $90 USD rather than $80. However, those who pre-ordered it at the lower price received an upgrade for free.

Also, the Beginning Hour teaser is receiving an update tomorrow, which will make the demo available for all PS4 owners.

MASSIVE info leak of Resident Evil 7. It's all still rumors so take it with a grain of salt, but apparently some of this stuff has already been confirmed. And obviously, spoilers abound.

That trailer looks like something from 'The Hills Have Eyes'.

Or Texas Chainsaw Massacre and House of 1000 corpses.

Bottom line is that the trailer looked like something out of one of those b rated slasher films about a crazy family having you trapped and trying to kill you, not liking that kind of a vibe within the Resident Evil series.

I would much rather have Biohazard mutated/mindless/instinct driven monsters back.
