Jorge, if it's successful they'll probably bring out a sequel or a way to load more games onto the existing one.

Do they come with one controller only? Because how easy would it be to sell a second controller with some games built into it. People would lap that up and it would be inexpensive to produce and sell.

They at least added info about some townspeople being pranksters/liars to the electronic manual, but it lacks a lot of ino from the printed version. Also no CV2 JP manual? No "Dracula 2" on Mini FC?

The Mini FC only has Castlevania 1. There are some titles that are exclusive for the US and the JP versions.

The US version has one controller. The Japanese version has 2.

Just another set of confusing decisions made by Nintendo... The only reason the famicom mini has 2 if because the famicom had built in controllers and including 1 would have just been silly.

I'm assuming the NES mini takes regular NES controllers, otherwise yes it's weird.

At least the NA and PAL versions came with extra titles.
Think I'll hold out for the SNES mini though.

Sadly, it doesn't take in regular NES controllers, as it uses the same port as the Wii Classic Controller.  But hey, it takes in Wii Classic Controllers as input... which isn't being manufactured anymore.  I presume it also works with anything that uses the classic controller plug, although the only things available brand new are either shitty third party controller and that PDP Gamecube controller-esque controller... and the position of the dpad is naff there.

Yeah, your point still stands... this is a confusing decision made by Ninty.  Ninty confuses me and hurts my head.

I'm not sure if this applies to the NES Classics games, but for the VC, they made the baffling decision of mapping B and A for the NES games onto the actual B and A buttons on the Classic Controller instead of the more ergonomical Y and B buttons.  At least the Wii U VC allowed you to remap the buttons, which would've been helpful if the Wii VC had that...

It probably came down to either target demographic and/ or cost.

Honestly I understand still retaining a port, but why does it need a cord at all? Varta batteries are a dime a dozen.

It's kinda baffling to see the short cord length in my opinion since
a) back when Nintendo did wired controllers, the wires were very long.
b) screen can get very big nowadays, and well you kinda have to be far away to get a decent view as well as not strain your eyes

it's like they designed this for the Wiimote in mind and were just like "yeah, throw it in for the NES classic I suppose."  I guess the above is moot if you're playing it on a computer monitor.

Also the Sega Genesis controller has a short cord.  Someone should do a comparison

If I'm right, original Famicom have short cords, but not that short and it was because it was inside the console but for this one... Its like these old videogames made between Atari and NES. How you can play it without almost kissing your TV? At least its HDMI or AV cable, whatever it comes bundled, is huge enough so you can let the console nearby?

Yeah, I think the cord length was made with the Wiimote in mind. It'd be a pain in the ass if it were as long as the original and plugged into the Wiimote.

That being said, a cord extension for the NES Classic would have been nice.

There is one. Its 3rd party but there are extender cords already on the market. Good luck finding the console to go with it tho!

Was talking an official one, but at least there are some out there. Though, I'm always really wary of third-party stuff since most of it winds up being garbage.
