I am still for the idea that the Belmonts' blood is cursed.
I wouldn't mind that either. Just not if it comes from Alucard having to be Sonia's baby daddy.
As for Ecclesia's storyline, my take on it is like this:
1. Barlowe being evil, while predictable, is up in the air for me. The only reason I second guess it is because of his conversation with Shanoa at the beginning.
2. I don't believe they're trying or going out of their way to make Albus the 'bad guy' either. It seems more likely even Barlowe doesn't understand why he would steal the only weapon (for them) that could defeat Dracula, hence why he told Shanoa not to take him out if need be and bring him back. He's coming off like the bad guy but not even the game seems to be going out of their way to make it so, so I doubt this was meant to be an OMG! plot twist if he ends up being good. I think it's just a misunderstanding and he's doing it for a good reason, though why he didn't get Barlowe involved or tell him why remains to be seen. (I assume like maybe he'd already tried to talk to him about the matter but Barlowe suggested it's the only way for this to work out. It seems that Albus and Shanoa are close so maybe he was only doing it to protect her. Maybe Barlowe isn't bad at all, just refused to budge in his decision, whatever using said power would do to Shanoa.)
3. I wonder if what Shanoa really is or who she really is has to do with 'Dracula's stolen power'.
4. I want to know what the heck 1up meant by Dracula not only not being the main villain of the game, but not the arc villain or whatever in this game.
