With all this focus on magic and holy orders, she's very likely tied to the Belnades somehow.

Might be speculation, but there's a very good chance. Especially since IGA said "Shanoa" is just a code name, so undoubtedly gonna be some super twist as to who she really is and how she ties into the CV story. That she primarily, and almost exclusively, attacks via magic puts the other clue in place. Third clue is that she works for a holy order out to get Drac, and that fits the Belnades M.O. to a tee.

This pisses me off though. Instead of introducing new characters all of the time, why doesn't he flesh out the already existing characters? And if the Morris family inherits the Vampire Killer from the Belmonts, why do we need a game with somebody other than a Belmont or a Morris. It's just redundancy.

That's a good point. It's cuz he isn't a good writer  :-\

Or maybe he just gets ahead of himself.

It's Dracula. Yeah. IGA said Akumajo Dracula would be strane without Dracula, hence he'll always find a way to appear in the CV series(urgh). And IGA mentioned that he regreted ever limiting the series by saying Dracula can only resurrect every 100 years and such.

Though, for some strange reason, that Dracula reminds me of Juste.

IGA on the glyph system:

"Uh, well, basically, the "glyph system" is an attack system or magical powers that involves symbols, and basically, uh, well we thought the time it takes to absorb symbols and things like that makes it more of an exciting game... and uh... using that as a magical... kinda attack system."

LOL WHUT!

Oh, IGA, you've done it again. You've summed up the game in one sitting!

To his credit, it's probably just poor translation, on behalf of Gamespot.

They returned to it likely due to the time period it takes place in; to tie it back to Drac's look in Symphony.

Nothing beat's Jeebus version from COD XD

dunno. dxc's was all young, and while he seemed to look similar (black hair but still had some facial hair and it seems long hair too) he differed too much from sotn's prologue.

Calm down Thomas.  I LOVE the Belmonts, but it's ok to step away from them sometimes, it adds a lot more depth to the series.

And antrax, though Iga is no shakespeare he is not terrible.  And this non-Belmont move in no way negates his credit as a writer.  Now, the cheesy dialogue in dos and por... that is another story entirely.

It really is sloppy to not even try to tie this character to the Morrises somehow. He has to explain how they came into the mix. Taking a Belmont-connection outta the picture when so close to the Morris era is really just silly.

Granted he could still do something with a side character in OoE, and even a side Belmont, but it's just more sloppiness if he does.

He's probably gonna use Richter towards that goal :( Getting old.

I do hope this game helps explain the Belnades bloodline more, if Shanoa is indeed one.

Sometimes? SotN, AoS, DoS, CoD, PoR, Order of Ecclesia. The Belmonts were special because they were supposed to be the only people who could wield the Vampire Killer and destroy Dracula. Unfortunately, because of Iga, now anybody can destroy Dracula, using any type of weapon, from a snow ball to a wiffle ball bat, each and every 5 years that Dracula seems to be resurrected.

Not to mention all the other overpowered side families, like the one Maxim came from (guy is way overpowered for just some friend of a Belmont), or the LeCardes.

Yeah, just how many people have this power to kill Dracula, and if so, why does he keep managing to come back so often, so soon.

Especially when you can kill him with 2 hits.

Hmmm. I'm guardedly optimistic; but the fact that IGN says it isn't a graphical leap over the previous DS games (which the screenshots also prove) means I'm going to be setting the bar pretty low for this one. Even though I knew the leaked screenshots were likely real, I reserved some futile hope they would actually invest some serious time and effort into making the graphics something more impressive, like DXC achieved.

If I forgot "everything I knew about Castlevania" I certainly wouldn't be excited about a new one coming out now would I?
