How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.
not everything evil is so tangible that you can whip at the head off, but it can attack you nonetheless.

I imagine whipping a possessed person until the demon pops out is not a very favored method. Any way, when I played AoS they called Julius an exorcist, that's good enough for me until I see something in game to counter it. So I'll say yes.
There's actually something in DoS about Julius being strong enough to destroy the demons without the use of a magic seal i.e. what Soma does once the monsters are destroyed (captured in the boss fights).
All the Belmonts could do this without magic seals because of the supernatural power within their bloodline. The vampirekiller is an added bonus. This makes them the ultimate exorcists.
