Unlike about 98% of the Castlevania fanbase, I find Judgment to be more of a curiosity, or heck, a guilty pleasure. Yes, the controls are limited (thank heavens for my Gamecube controller!), the attack lists are unusually short, the characters don't look or act like themselves for the most part, and yet I still enjoy it somehow.

I'm one of those people who thinks the Castlevania games should be exploring more genres to help escape the numerous Metroidvanias over the years, but because of Judgments poor reception, Konami is unlikely to make another Castlevania game, and even if they did, the majority of fans would avoid it like the plague, even if it was either based on SSB or a 2-D fighter.

I don't think so the matter of the fact is that it was lackluster it just was not a good fighting game compared to others in the genre like soul calibur. I though it was fun at points heck I might play it again just to challenge anyone on this forum if they feel like it,but the fact still remains it is just not as good as other fighters, and if there was an other plan to make a fighting game that was made by designers that really had clarity  on making a deep good fighting game that is not only aimed toward the fighting game enthusiast, but also cv fans and to a point causal gamers as well.

Now this new 2d fighter if fans were to dismiss it ok, but what if later on more infomation was shown on like at e3 or tokyo game show that would show just how great this upcoming fighter is shaping up to be. Even if fans were to avoid it if it has solid music, great atmosphere, solid gameplay, and incredible single player modes and multiplayer then it would be a hit again maybe not with the fans but other people would pick up on it (fightingvania, castlestalkers of blazvania or something like that yeah).

Come on now this was going to happen eventually  :P

I am certainly agree with this, however, I believe, if Konami want to explore other genres with Castlevania IP the final result should be good and not some half-heartedly aasembled "fighting" game with crazy designs.

I actually suspect one reason that Judgment turned out as it did was due to a lack of experience in making games for the fighting genre.
