Ok. You have some things wrong, I'll fill you in on how it worked. (don't wanna sound mean, just know a lot about this series story).
Walter never had the crimson stone, he even mentions when he is dying that "I(Walter) could not obtain the crimson stone, but one day it will be mine!" He says this because his powers are so strong that they will kind of auto-revive him after a while, as he later says "With my powers, I will surely come back to life.". Now it could either be for the same reason, his control over death, or even becomeing the dark lord (since he never died prior to having this title) that regenerates Dracula every 100 years. It seems likely that it is just because he is a powerful vampire, as Walter apparently had regeration powers aswell.
