who is the strogest belmont and explain your reason.

Personally, I think it's Leon.  He was able to slay a lot of monsters without the completed vampire killer.

I think it's probably Julius. He's the one who finally puts Dracula to an end, even though he did have help from some others. Plus, after almost a thousand years of Belmont fighting, he's probably picked up techniques from each one thats been passed down through each generation
What a horrible night to have a curse!

Simon. He's the only Belmont to have whipped Dracula's head clean off. :P  Other than that, after his big adventure, he had to go on another big adventure, but while dying, then succeded and survived, and also defeated Dracula a second time.

Isn't Julius supposed to be the strongest?  Like, canonically?

I certainly remember AoS stating he lost most of his powers in 1999, and he's on evidently on the level of every other Belmont in his weakened state.

Yeah, and I think the Belmonts are supposed to get stronger with each generation, so in that case, Julius is the strongest.

Simon does get props for the reasons mentioned above though. I agree that that was pretty badass of him.

Where are the gameboy Belmonts?

Out of the whole bloodline, Julius seems to have gotten the greatest results.  Whatever he did, it sure makes him sound the strongest.

I'd give a special mention to Juste, who is the strongest Belmont when it comes to feeling pressured.  His friends are in danger but he's so sure of himself that he takes the time to redecorate the castle. . .

i'd say simon as well. if i recall this correctly, julius did state he had a lot of help. simon went it alone, never leveled up once(like you know julius would if they made his game), and destroyed dracula single handedly. then upon being cursed, single handedly traveled the country side finding dracula's pieces, to put him back together, and destroy him again.

julius somehow obtained the knowledge to seal dracula, but that doesn't mean any other belmont before couldn't have if they came upon the same knowledge, which doesn't automatically put him at the top. for all the praise soma gives julius for doing the impossible, you don't know that he wouldn't have seen, say trevor as a god or something. not to take away from julius, i'm just saying we don't know if an older belmont couldn't have done what he has.

chrsitopher gets a nod though, just for the hell he's gotta go through just to reach dracula, while moving the most sluggishly a belmont ever has.

No love for Christopher. Not only did he whip Dracula with the speed of a tectonic plate, he whipped his kid's ass AND Dracula 15 years later, much past his prime.

But I voted Simon. Close enough.

I'd like to see a weakest Belmont topic. That'd bring good debate.

Wasn't Sonia the most broken Belmont in CastleVania history? From what I remember, she was pretty ridiculously overpowered for her game...

having a single use invincibility potion-like ability is hardly overpowered. for example juste can stock up on those and use them to completely obliterate dracula without even letting him hit once. :o

gameplay wise it doesn't even count anyway. i think what op meant was storyline wise. leon getting the vk is a story element.

Eh, that's a good point...

Then I'd have to say it's either Simon or Richter. Simon's killed Dracula on his own twice, and Richter just kicks that much ass. And he's got Item Crash. >.>;;

Yeah, but Richter's got enough sence not to run around in a loincloth. Trevor doesn't.

Trevor doesn't run around in a loincloth. He also doesn't wear silly karate suits or silly pirate costumes, unlike Richter. I really don't get why people like Richter so much. He's the worst [canon] Belmont in the series.

Let's see here... Trevor's sprite:
That is CLEARLY a loincloth. No doubt about it.

Now, Richter's sprite:
That's a pirate costume? Sorry to break it to ya, bub, but that's fairly normal attire for the late 1700's.
