Dude, it's best not to factor game-play elements into any CV story or plot context. - Credit for Drac's toughness in CoD goes to the programmers.
Actually, on that subject, I always felt that Dracula could accomplish that by drawing his opponent into the chaos realm with him. I mean, Circle of the Moon, CV 64/Legacy, and even HoD had the final fights taking place on bizarre planes of some parallel dimension. In Portrait, Drac basically drew upon Death's power for the first time to achieve his demon form on the physical plane.It's just a thought.
Actually, his soul was using Issac's body as a vessel. So, he wasn't truly resurrected
That's probably just another way for him to be revived.

The 'alternate dimension battle' was also present in Rondo and DXC. Those were 100 year cycle games if I am not mistaken.
