It wouldn't matter, we still bought games that didn't have Dracula in them

well i believe dracula is at least mentioned in every castlevania... wait. He's in every castlevania too. Right?

BTW chances are we aren't gonna have Dracula confirmed until the game actually comes out. Because Cox always responds to that question with "if we told somethings it would ruin the game experience". So don't let that determine if you get the game.

I wonder why he is so mysterious about it. Unless they pull something like the game's protagonist is actually Dracula. It isn't such a bad idea actually but it already has been done before with Soma.

Maybe, Nagumo, but I dunno...I have a really hard time believe Gabriel would end up being Dracula. Turning a Belmont into the series' main antagonist would be a *major* change to the Castlevania formula, and even though this is a reboot I don't think MercurySteam would go *that* far. Would they?

Yeah, I rather not have Dracula at all. It's time for a new major villian.

The game looks really detailed! I LOOOOVE the first screenshot. I can also totally see why Cox was mentioning Prince of Persia as a competitor. The PoP similarities may be good or bad depending on what you really want from a CV, but one thing's for sure; No more flat hallway after hallway or duplicated empty square rooms. The castle will probably feel like a real castle this time, not a gigantic 1 storey catacomb  :D

However; A PoP-ish game with a fixed camera?  :-\ I guess they know what they're doing...

A bit of info-

Yesterday we were at an event of Konami, where they showed their coming titles. One of those games Castlevania were: Lord or Shadow and of that game can you become soon thus a vast impression, of which we can say now already that these are very positive. During the presentation the necessary details concerning this coming game were communicated and a number of interesting facts enumerates we below for you. * The game will contain in sum around 50 the chapters * These 50 chapters are well for approximately 15 hours gameplay * The game stands under supervision of Kojima Productions which ensures feedback * The game titaniums will contain, which larger become as you come further in the game * Beside klim and klauterwerk come also the necessary puzzle elements in the game * Is not lacking of course fight and mainly by means of your magical cross will go * This cross is as you progress in the game to extend to no less than 40 combo' s To up to that point the first details, in our vast impression (tomorrow) we will go deeper on this very promising game in. In any case it seems there on that Castlevania: Lord or Shadow wide fifteen hours will last and that is exactly a number of hours of gameplay, nietwaar?

Did you use a translator for this? You sound like Yoda, lol! Which is a good thing by the way  ;D
Anyway, thanks for the info! 50 chapters across 15 hours? SOunds like each chapter is really short, but that's good in my opinion. The script must be kinda massive!

Translator. The only sites reporting this are foreign so far.

One site mentioned a SKELETON RIDER WITH A FLAMING HEAD.

Which sounds pretty sweet.

50 Chapters in a 15 hour game? Then each chapter must be hella short then, I hope we see some footage soon rather than later.

And the screens from the link look great and I notice quite a few well placed candles in the castle areas, gee I wonder if you can whip them?

We should probably think about those "chapters" as different areas in the game's world. I'm pretty sure it's not related to plot.

From that German site, loosely translated:

"Yesterday Konami showed us a teaser trailer for the upcoming Castlevania Lords of the Shadow, which regrettably was not released to the public."

"What could be seen in the video was very impressive: perceived 60fps and well staged fights, with the Combat Cross very reminiscent of Kratos' blades chaos ... "epic battles" against Titans (and here the game just reminded even more of God of War) where you have to jump in trained Castlevania style by jump and swing to the right places."

"The game should end the year to appear.  The impression which we received yesterday from the video makes you want more."

Pics are great . . . bags of atmosphere!  Chapters makes me think of stages (and I think that would be bloody fantastic actually), but it probably will be trek here to this area (Chapter I), back again to this (Chapter II), etc. ala DMC / Bayonetta.
