So, no Alucard in any way, then who could be in there? O.o

Aeon the chef. He helps Gabriel file his taxes through various QTE laden rhythm minigames.

Aeon also discovers that he has a dark and mysterious past.

haha.  or maybe the name "Aeon the Chef" will be inscribed on one of the tombstones in the Wygol Cemetary?  maybe "he died by food poisoning" will be inscribed on many of the tombs?

oh yeah, and mark down April 9th.  its supposedly a day when they will release a lot of new information and trailers and stuff.

lol I'd love to see an Aeon's tombstone :P kind of a allegory tio what it represents (absolutel nonsense.

Thank you so much about the date, wow, Can't wait to watch another trailer, I'm betting for this to be very very Castlevainia-ish, and perhaps we'll meet at least 1 Lord of Shadow  :)

Observation! Previously it was stated that the game was complete and all they had left was to go back and add touch it up. But the twitter pic shows they just now creating slogra.... Could it possibly be a direct result of fans complaining? If so... Im proud of us.

I guess all the fans complaining that the monsters so far look like they were ripped out of LOTR  got to them. So they were like "Fuck it throw in some random classic Castlevania enemy to shut them up." And they pick Slogra's name out of a hat.

It could also be a pic from earlier in development.

no, i've been expecting Slogra since he was in their "Bible" Super Castlevania IV.  ok, don't know if i was expecting him specifically, but am not surprised and was expecting a bunch of stuff from that game.  heh, it's possible they might have recreated the Slogra-Gaibon-Death-Dracula finale at the end of the game  ;D  they just hadn't gotten to him yet.

Calling someone out on their shit is "coward"....?

Funny how some of you are getting so hung up over another person rightfully and justifyingly calling another a fucking idiot. He brought up a questionable point that was far from "fundamented" (pfft), kept peddling his nonsense regardless, and then buckled out of the argument all together under the retarded premise that he "doesn't care" and that he "didn't want to talk about it in the first place", even though he made the dickheaded decision to spearhead the conversation it in the first place.

Why don't you grow a pair and stop acting/typing like a flippin' six year old. You would think that CASTLEVANIA fans of all people would be less fucking sheltered.

Do you even know what you are talking about? I mean, come on, I said that as of now, XIII is more obviously part of the Final Fantasy series then Lords of Shadow is part of Castlevania and that it is hilariously ignorant and biased to say that with a straight face. Whenever Lords of Shadow is true to Castlevania is inrelevant. Apperenly having a guy with a whip (who wears SIMON QUEST ARMOR) who goes to a castle is good enough for Castlevania then a bunch of orphans (most of them) who try to save the world with all odds against them, fighting, spell casting, using summons, and collecting treasure (not to mention a healty dose of the usual references) is good enough for Final Fantasy.

Sense?

I guess I should end this horrid argument as quickly as possible, especially since it lowered itself to toddler level. I could list way more references that XIII makes to FF then LoS does to CV. I guess since you guys like to list every single tiny reference seperately instead of just listing them under general categories I can do that as well. Out the top of my head:

Bahamut, Odin, Alexander, Ifrit, Ramuh, Ragnarok, Shiva, Airships, Wight, Dreadnought, Jobs, Healer, Warrior, Cid, Gladius, random battles, treasure chests, Cure, Aero, Fire, Thunder, Quake, Chocobos, stats, inventory, Palamecia, Hunting Marks, Overworld, Potions, etc, etc, etc.

Oh what I have become. :(

The entire argument is retarded to begin with.
Not having seen significant connections to CV in LoS is meaningless since we haven't seen much of anything yet.
It's my opinion that Cox is going to be hard pressed to make LoS less CV-like than FF13 is FF-like.

It's my opinion

Well yeah, and it was my opinion that wasn't the case. Then came Harrycombs and starts to enforce his own opinion on me. That kind off grinded my gears.

Not having seen significant connections to CV in LoS is meaningless since we haven't seen much of anything yet.

True, it was also going to say that. It's dumb to say that LoS which isn't even finished and only obtained limited information is available  is more a Castlevania game then XIII is Final Fantasy.

....

Confirmed: Alucard will not appear in Lords of Shadow. Well, what do you know!

Hmmm, maybe the new character they're going to formally introduce us to is one of the ones we "know" about, but only because of the art cards they distrubuted at conventions before they announced that it was a Castlevania game?  Such characters include (and it can be hard to tell which are "characters" and which are "bosses" or both):

- Sword Master
- Claudia
- Lady of the Forest
- Pan
- Black Night
- Titan

Even though we know about Zobek and that he is voiced by Patrick Stewart and was in the trailer, has he really been "formally introduced"?

Here's a website that was posted on the Castlevania Wiki that has some clearer images of the art cards than the ones that Kotaku had posted:

Hey, I noticed something interesting. I think you can see which of those characters shown on the cards are allies or enemies. All the cards that have the allies seem to have butterflies and flowers on the side while all the enemies have torns and bats. That would mean that the Lady of the Forest and the Sword Master would be enemies.
