Remember where the whole Cronqvist thing comes from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthias_Corvinus_of_Hungary
The Corvinus "Cronqvist" are the historical enemy family of the Draculea clan. It doesn't have to be related to OUR MAthias cronqvist, but the real one
Oh, now this makes sense. Weird how Iga has it the other way around for the Cronqvist's. This makes the Gabriel=Dracula theory a little less believable now.
Vampires a very ‘in’ right now.
Absolutely. I was just saying to someone else that when you start the game, many of the vampires, the grunt vampires, will by quite beast-like. But as you get further into the story they become much more aristocratic.
This is quite interesting.
The Combat Cross seems to be a fun new weapon. But Lords Of Shadow’s hero is a Belmont. Why not use the Vampire Killer?
We wanted to be traditional and use the chain whip from the original games. There are references to Vampire Killer, but I don’t want to give too much away because it’s quite an important part of the game.
I think he just confirmed the existence of the real Vampire Killer. Maybe the Combat Cross turns into it.

How much of the game comprises the castle and how much is external locations?
About a third of the game takes place in the castle and the other parts take place in things like catacombs, swamps, dark forests, sewers, underground dungeons, all the places you’d expect. We have night and day cycles, we have rain, fog, smoke, snow, thunderstorms. If you look at the early Castlevania games, they weren’t always set in castles, they had other areas that felt like they were separate. It was never only set in a castle until the later games. For me there should be other areas, also because I wanted the castle to feel special, I didn’t want it to get boring. So I thought that when you’re travelling toward something, the anticipation should be building and when you finally get there it should feel amazing. So we do lead the player a merry dance, but when they do eventually arrive at the castle the reward will be worth it.
CALLED THIS. I CALLED THIS SINCE THE FIRST BATCH OF SCREENSHOTS. The game starts out considerably slow and becomes more "Castlevania" the further you progress.
Have you put in an intentional glitch where Belmont moonwalks up the stairs?
Hahaha. It’s tempting, very tempting, but no we haven’t. A couple of the things we’ve put in, for example, there’s the Konami Code. When you defeat enemies you get experience and that experience becomes a sort of currency for buying combos. But if you input the Konami Code then when you hit an enemy, the experience points will appear above their head, a lot like in Symphony Of The Night.
Oh man I would laugh so hard if Gabriel could moonwalk on the stairs.
So these will be full gameplay sections, not just cut-scenes?
Yeah. By the way, we’ll be revealing more story details later in the year and you’ll find that some of the characters in the trailer are characters that appear in previous Castlevania games.
Well we did see Death in the trailer.
Yes, and there are others…
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF RELEASE THE GODDAMN TRAILER NOW.
Ok. How did you fit the whole game onto Xbox 360?
We’ve put it on to two discs. And I’m surprised no one has asked me that. Everyone knows we’ve led on PS3 but no one asks what the challenges of that are. One of the challenges is… Well, the reason we decided to lead on PS3, to answer your question, was because we felt it was one of the most challenging platforms for us to develop on. The issue with Xbox 360 was the space issue because of blu ray, so the game will have to ship on two DVDs.
2 Discs for the 360 version! That's what I was gonna get!
