The more i think about it the more i like the idea of rewriting in old characters in new context. It's like all the best of castlevania in one game.

I agree.  I've been following Dave's tweets and it seems like there is a new story or interview every couple of days for the past 2 weeks.  Also there have been a lot of gaming websites and publications that have "what to watch for" articles for E3 and LOS has been topping a lot of those lists.

I was looking at screens again, seeing Gabriel's outfit. It sure harkens to Dracula themed outfits, as much as it does Belmont outfits.. just saying, that art direction is pretty suggestive..

Thinking about it I don't think he will turn into dracula.

Mainly because in the Gamescon trailer you could hear a guy yelling, I wipe the world of belmonts forever..

SOUNDED VERY DRACULA LIKE.

Unless this is another Walter like scenario.

Its probably that evil sorcerer guy mentioned before. I mean if it would be so obvious that it is Drac then why do so mysterious about his presence in the game?

He probably still is going to make an appearance in some form or another since this game is openly going to condradict the canon anyway.

I popped into W.H. Smith yesterday (with a little hopeful anticipation) but only last month's issue was on the shelves.  I'll try again at the weekend . . .

Konami's E3 press conference is scheduled for 1:00 PM Wednesday June 16th. Someone here provided this link a few pages back, but if you register, you'll be able to stream the conference here:
http://www.konami.com/e3

For once, having Wednesdays off is going to pay off. Hooray for me!
If I forgot "everything I knew about Castlevania" I certainly wouldn't be excited about a new one coming out now would I?

Except Castlevania hasn't been very grim and gothic for a while. Looking at the GBA and the DS games there's very little gothic grimness to be found, if any. I'd rather have fantasy than cartoony. Besides, I don't think the game will be as fantasyesque as some would have you believe.

EDIT: Dave Cox worked on SotN! I had no idea.
Also; "We have night and day cycles, we have rain, fog, smoke, snow, thunderstorms." /Dave Cox

I'm expecting "WHAT A HORRIBLE NIGHT TO HAVE A CURSE", lol.

What day and night cycles? Thats totally badass Ive missed those.

I've got the gamestm issue, here are some of the details:
 • The 360 version is on 2 discs because it's a ps3 conversion.
 • There are 50+ stages, the focus testers took 20+ hours to finish it all
 • Some secrets (i.e. a dagger upgrade) have to be obtained by learning new skills later in the game (in this instance, double jumping)
 • There are two jump buttons, one for short distance jumps, the other for long jumps
 • Tons of new screens (in my opinion)
 • Heaps of new enemy models shown
 • 8 pages long!
 • Iga hasn't had any say, or involvement, in LoS, according to Cox
 • Kojima productions were more involved as publishers and for solving design problems rather than development
 • Konami code's in, it makes stars appear over the enemies heads, like in symphony
 • There are vehicle sections, in the sense of a horse and cart or a giant eagle being vehicles.
 • Vampires will appear more aristocratic than the ones shown in recent screens(if not, they're featured here)

There is also confirmation that the second guy in recent screens is Zobek, the titular castle appears, there will be fixed camera angles, so the player won't need to make "leaps of faith" in areas like the clock tower. Off (my) topic: I think this is the first primarily EU developed Castlevania game, a Konami Europe and Mercury Stream working on this. All in all, one of my must-buy games of 2010!!! ;D

P.S Ignore the two lists at the end if they're there, they didn't appearing at the time of writing, only in the preview!
