I don't see the point in waiting years for something, only to try to go through it as fast as humanly possible. I plan on taking my time, going back for every hidden item and secret, reading all the lore entries, etc. The road getting there to me is more fun than the bittersweet conclusion.
I can understand how some people wanna rush it, but I agree with you. I remember during the SNES, particularly with Final Fantasy III(VI), I basically took half a year to pass it, and playing it little by little, stretching it out(of course, I was in school, had homework and such), finally passing it felt SOOOOO satisfying. Even today, I try not to play games in one shot. I'm playing New Super Mario Wii as of recent, and been playing bits each day(like to a save spot each day, and there's two save points in each world. I'm at world 8(saved after beating Kamek), meaning I've been playing for near three weeks, which is including the days I was too busy to play at all). I love playing games like that!! Savor the experience!
