Hey, if it's all pretty unanimous we like the game once it comes out, I think we should send something together to mercurysteam and cox. I get the impression they worked really hard and that would probably really make it worth while to them. I know it sounds cheesy but those gestures go a long way. Screw the reviews.

He got fired?

Well I don't think so, but wouldn't that be awesome? (not really, we're not 4chan exactly).

Sure, a decent web designer for their corporative website would be great. Hell, I offer myself for that.
Just joking... as we say here at Spain, "en casa del herrero, cuchillo de palo", it happens all the time.

Hmmm...  Mercury Steam has taken their Castlevania seriously and it shows.  We have yet to really see and judge the merits of their work.  I like the idea of a gesture, but we're already buying their game up front with some measure of good faith that we won't be disappointed.  If they deliver above and beyond our expectations --I'm all for pulling something together --some kind of special thank-you...

Count me in on this, as well. I also agree that it looks like they've put a lot of thought and detail into this one, and so far it seems like their ideas have been carried to their full potential (as opposed to some of the ideas IGA has for games, which sound good but aren't executed as well as they could be).

Also, a question to anyone who's played the demo...I've noticed a few reviewers picked up on this, and I kind of saw it in a gameplay video: Gabriel seems to run really friggin' fast. He moves like he weighs 10 pounds. Does this give the controls an awkward or unnatural feel, or is it pretty insignificant? I've noticed it looked a little weird in a video I saw (the one where he's on the mountain pass), and I guess I'm just wondering how it affects the feel of the controls, if at all. Like I said, it looks kind of weird to me, but I guess it could also make moving from one point to another more bearable during the non-combat periods of the game...
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

Gabriel's speed is fine. Better than Reinhardt, Leon, and especially Hector.

I think in this case it's fine though I actually find his run a bit wonky-looking. But I think that's the animation itself rather than him moving fast enough that it seems like he's gliding. Game kinda seems like it's running at a rapid pace. In that case, it's pretty great that the game lasts 15-20 hours, considering that the reviews also say that it's pretty varied.

Yea, from what I've seen recently, it seems his animations aren't quite there.... Definitely not to Ninja Gaiden's standards anyhow. But there aren't many if any are up in Ninja Gaiden's level.
