I hope when they said, "they really haven't talked about it much" they meant, to the public.  If that means they haven't even worked on any yet, it might be quite awhile.

Games like God of War 3, while not super cheap, are about 35-40$ I'd say. I wonder what decides these things...

Funny you mention GoW3 cuz I just got a free copy of that from my local Gamestop. They are way overstocked and are literally giving them away.

Just played a few stages into the castle.

omfg

I love this game, seriously. ALso, frying up a group of vampires with the Holy Cross move is so satisfying.

:o That is... unheard of!
Reminds me of back in the mid/late nineties when Sony realised they were releasing too many different Playstation games at once. Games were lingering on shelves just because there were too many copies printed and too many different games to choose from. Customers were confused and overwhelmed.

Anyway, I was wondering.. do bosses in LoS have health meters? I don't remember seeing it. I really like health meters cause it gives me an idea of how I'm doing... (or actually, how they're doing, lol)

There's an option to turn on health meters, yes.

All right, I have made some conclusions which have in turn helped me appreciate this game a bit more.  I have noticed there is a certain theme going with the bestiary in game.

Monsters (spiders, trolls) to name a few seem to be "dying" or getting near extinct.  This game takes place in 10??(forgot exact year).  I remember as a kid playing through CVIII and SCIV.  I believe in those two games either in the manual or intro cutscenes (I know they are not cutscenes so much as a rolling dialogue you have to read), that the monsters showing up around the countryside were not seen before and thus were an ever present reminder that the count was back after 100 years of peace.  So, here is my theory on how this fits into the cannon.  Dracula is at the end and creatures of the night that were beginning to wane and die off need to be resurrected through the magic the count uses and now in future games when they appear they are not normal and thus the count needs to bring them back.  Seems cool when you think of it as part of castlevania history.

This kind of reminds me of something I was wondering (the idea of monsters dying off and possibly being replaced later on in the series): if Mercury Steam continues to handle console games in the series for a while, will series staples will be brought back into the series over time? Besides, there are some things that they can be cut some slack on, like how this game takes place before the historical advent of gothic architecture and art, and things like that. Those things could always be brought back if games are made to fit within another time period.

I guess my game is on its way in the mail, but my strategy guide won't be here until the 25th. That's when the Fallout one gets released, and Amazon is shipping them together. o_O Oh well. The guide is pretty much just for collection purposes for me, anyway.  :-\
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

Well I can see how medusa heads might not work in some areas, but man it would have been awesome for some of the platforming areas where it kind of gives you a 2d/3d perspective with Gabriel hanging.  Probably would be tough since you can't hang and attack, but here is hoping for the sequel or perhaps DLC which would add that feature?

As for series staple enemies, I know we have a skeleton of sorts here and some armored knights.  Bone pillars work in 2d, but from LoI, they don't really translate well on the 3d realm and aren't that big a deal to fight anyway.  Bats need to make a come back though.  From playing GOW we know they translate rather well in 3d.  What else?  I don't know if mermen are in this one or not.  I am guessing not since I don't remember seeing them in the guide.

Now if you mean enemies from SOTN and onwards, then that is a lot of enemies to choose from.  Some would work and others would probably not work too well in 3d and if they were included may not be as cool or as big a deal.

Just saw this on Twitter.

Quote
danorganplayer@CastlevaniaLOS The game is amazing! Would you ever consider doing a metroidvania in 3d. SOTN style, maybe alucard as lead.In your universe!

CastlevaniaLOS@danorganplayer Metroidvania no...but Alucard? :)
Alucard in the sequel...? And then in another twitter someone mentions Simon for the sequel, Dave replies "Ooooh the shit I could tell you :)"

I know it was discussed before, but I don't know if there was ever an answer given:
Is there a website where the Euro limited edition can ordered? And about how much USD it would cost? if anyone has an idea, let me know. Thanks!
What a horrible night to have a curse!

Hmm so a sequel is pretty assured then.
And Alucard? Hmm that could be interesting  ;)

Looking at Cox's Twitter I saw this:

"UPDATE Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Limited Collector's Edition should be up for pre-order with GAME within 24 hours"

YAY FOR EUROPEANS!!! ^_^ *and NA's who want the mask ;)*

On Cox's twitter, I think he said it should be up for pre-order withing the next 24 hours.

Does anybody know if this game was done in 7.1 or 5.1 surround?  I've been trying to find pics of the back of the packaging on both the PS3 and 360 versions.

Edit: Just saw Vlad's post.

if Cox was to make a Alucard game "without the metroidvania style" i would be really interested at how he would do it since thats sorta like a staple for Alucard IMO.
however i must say even tho i would be interested in such a game he would have to do Alucard's character justice and not pull a Cornell or Olrox revamp since i am a HUGE Alucard fan and will be pissed if he does so lol :D
and a Simon game would be cool also and given how much of a fan Cox is of Simon its was only logical to think he would make a game regarding him but i honestly hope that this game is more CVish then LOS was
