I never liked the barbarian design for classicvanias simply because it looks NOTHING like what someone in those eras would dress like.

To be fair, Dracula wouldn't be looking like Bela Lugosi with that short, slick back hair and tuxedo in the 1600s. Though, quite frankly, that little inconsistency never bothered me.

It's not like Gabriel wears armor that fits in any historical time period anyway. His tunic doesn't either.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Back in the day, box and and the game character had little in common due to graphical limits. Simon in CV1 in game looked nothing to me like he did on the box art, nor in my imagination. Trevor kind of matched his box art for me, but only a bit.

Really? I saw otherwise and was fine with it. Didn't bother me at all. Besides, what better way to take down the Prince of Darkness then so Conan-ish dude wielding an 8 foot chain whip with a spike ball on the end...Ouch!

How about this, instead of clinching your fists, stubbornly refusing to appreciate anything that doesn't perfect match your extremely limited view of Cv, how about you open your mind just a wee bit to something different?  I know change is scary, but come'on! You think a big brutish dumb looking barbarian would've looked even remotely plausible (not absolutely terrible) when delivering the lines done by Jason Issacs? Really?

I'm actually a very open minded person, but I do however stick to my principles when it comes to the treatment of our dear classic titles. Unless it's done in a way that will 'click' with me then it does nothing for me.

Whatever you're smoking, I want some of it.

I don't smoke, don't drink and don't do drugs. I'm clean as a whistle. And I'll 'stake' my life on that.

I'm just hoping that the sequence of events in Resurrection leading up to Gabe's final fall to the "dark side" don't mirror the weak-ass plot devices from Revenge of the Sith.  Is it really that hard to show the progressions of a good guy going bad???

Truly, I'd like to see Gabe take the approach of "what do I need God for anyways?" rather than the "God took everything from me and I'm pissed" one.  I like the idea of Dracula thinking that he can do better than God, rather than him just going around doing things just to try and piss on God's parade.  Ego driven mastermind > angry tandrum throwing.

That would be pretty difficult. Anakin was a whiny immature bitch with a temper.

Gabriel is brooding, and uh... More brooding.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

I agree that it shouldn't happen...but I don't put it past game devs these days to do the dumbest of things when it comes to plots.  I don't want to see this whole "I'll bring your dead wife back if you agree to turn evil" stupidity going on.

Ah well, can't be any worse than a true blooded Belmont that CAN'T wield the VK until 1999 because a lame, unexplained plot device says so. BTW, did that plot device have anything to do with Prince?

It was meant to explain why John Morris suddenly had it when they made CV Bloodlines.

I guess they could've just went with 'he found it in the lost & found.'

Could've just said he was part of the Belmont bloodline but didn't have his last name.

Nice for art, but I hope that's not an actual screenshot of a cutscene.
