New preview.

Is it just me or do these previews continue to sound more positive by the minute?

Anyone who still says this game doesn't look anything like Castlevania is simply crazy or far too attached to the Japanese oriented style.

But Castlevania is Japanese.

I'm digging that castle shot though.

I'll definitly give this game a playthrough once I get my hands on it. The only minor detale that doesn't jive with me is the way they designed the Vamplirekiller. I'd personally would rather see a spikeball and chain whip then a large stone-looking cross with a grapple hook thing like Zelda. It's not very castlevania'ish.

Personally I like the combat crosses design. The whips in castlevania are always changing, so it's hard to say what is and isn't castlevania'ish

Remember though, it's not the Vampire Killer. Gabriel may be a Belmont but his weapon is the Combat Cross. It's not the same as the Vampire Killer, they are 2 totally different weapons.

That makes a heck of a lot more sense now. I wonder if this guy is a non-direct decendant which would explain the lack of Vampirekiller.

There is no need to explain the lack of vampire killer.
This has nothing to do with original canon. If Gabriel is a Belmont, the game may very well be re writing belmont history.
There are no ties unless they want there to be.

Roughly 50 years before Lament I think. So if this were in the orginal canon that would make Gabe Leon's granddad. I actually like the idea of Belmont warriors that predate even him, aside from the fact that they were probably just knights but it would be cool if they would go in that direction. And Castlevania needs more knightly Belmonts.  :D

It's like a monk or something, or a LOS perhaps?? No, it doesn't look too menacing, I just can't guess  ???
Edit: It has a kind of cloak so it could be a Brotherhood leader-master.

Cox posted a picture up a while back on Twitter which was pretty similar.  The hint was the same too . . .

We should have a sweepstake.  How about . . . a Sonia Belmont cameo?

Liking the IGN write-up, seems pretty balanced on the whole.  Roll on E3!

I gotta admit this thing is looking better and better every time they release a new video.
This may be the point where I finally break and get a PS3 or an XBOX360. The question is which?
