Since Shadow of the Colossus gigantic enemies are quite popular, but it's still not that easy to make such battle unforgettable experience. I hope MercurySteam will do it right.

Nah Big enemies were popular before that.. though I do believe they increased in popularity since then.

I'm not too excited with the big titan though. I don't like big fights... the only time I liked them was Shadow of Colossus, because it was indeed epic considering how you don't have super skills, but you have to climb up him like a mountain and cut/stab them to death.

Video games have always had large enemies. The Mega Man series had large enemies and bosses for a LONG while. Kid Icarus, well, the last boss is a GIANT head. Haunted Castle has a few GIANT bosses, as do the Ghosts N Goblins/Ghouls N Ghosts series. As soemone noted, the only thing that changed from then to now is that the technology allows bigger boss fights. I don't doubt, had that technology been around back in the day, the battles between Yellow Devil or Loki would be not unlike the ones we see for GoW or Lords of Shadow.

From what I heard was the IGA didn't even want to show the trailer, but Konami basically made him. Why? Again, it's one big CV mystery. The reason of being for that one trailer is just an enigma in itself. Especially how IGA can't be located. We know he's working on "something", but that "something" is never revealed. Why do I envision a Roswell-like cover-up with "men in black"-type people abducting IGA after drugging him, then shutting him away in the deepest covert offices 100 floors underground?
I think he's just missing so he can grow a new stylish hairstyle so when he resurfaces he'll wow us like back in 2005 with that shaggy mane.

Looks cool but once again not very Castlevania-ish.

If Lords of Shadow will be successful (and I hope it will) then definition of "Castlevania-ish" will probably evolve a little. ;) Also Titans are just a kind of "bonus". There are few of them in the game and their main role is to impress the player. They're not a core element of the gameplay (like in Shadow of the Colossus).

Holy crap! That looks awesome! Look at that castle in the background too!

I haven't seen before Gabriel's render used in this cover (http://twitpic.com/1u5bcl) but castle in the background isn't new. You can check it out in CastleKeeper's Gallery. I'm doing my best to keep those materials up to date, but my end-of-term examinations will hunt me down really soon. ;)

Also, check this out - http://www.castlemaniablog.com/?p=2359

Goodness, I love how whenever a game is over popular, anything remotely like it is automatically a rip off (...)

So true. :D

If a game is very popular then you can easily refer to it when describing something new. It's perfectly normal so I don't understand why there's some much hate around those comparisons. We haven't seen enough gameplay from LoS yet. We need to compare our thoughts with something we know already.

I get pissed with these Gow-fanboys. Everything all around the world is inspired in God of War for them. Sports games, war, rpg, action, fight, adventure and everything else, is always inspired by the damned GoW. Fuck GoW!

I saw in a forum, a jerk who said that Beowulf was inspired in Kratos. Man, how the world can be so small for them so? Everything in their mind comes down to this, and nothing by the way from now on in their lives will be different from GoW. I think even to get a girlfriend these guys will say they seemed to Aphrodite ... But the Aphrodite of GoW, because their life comes down to it. Do not take for they think are the very Kratos and then ... mental hospital for you. Hahaha

CASTLEVANIA - LORDS OF SHADOW, THE BEST GAME OF THE YEAR!!!

LONG LIFE TO CASTLEVANIA (SoTN-fanboys stop comparing every game with that too... If all the games  were equal, you will also complain about them)

And once more to the Gow-fan boys... If someone copied something, were the creators of GoW. At first Gow, you can clearly see that the novel is a copy of the legend of Beowulf, and it's amazing how you say Castlevania is copying them, and this series is now over 20 years. The system of gameplay can be modified to fit the new trend, and if that system of gameplay everyone enjoyed, why not apply to the game? And that gameplay is not unique to GoW, it appeared at that time and especially with Onimusha Devil May Cry, Castlevania was that it would copy something because it has the same atmosphere of the game. Because you do not talk shit also saying that you copied from Darksiders, Bayonetta, Heavenly Sword, Devil May Cry, Onimusha, Dante's Inferno and others? No, it wn of GoW. If you slip up a little while will say that Thor was a copy of Kratos, because as he also liked a fight ... It was copied.
A hero becomes a hero not because he wants to, but by what he does.

cool, more stone giant screens. You know what? The head on that female giant reminds me of a Queen Alien. So in true CV fashion, it looks like Cox is still putting movie inspiration in this game :))

Actually, those five screenshots were in the Gallery from the beginning, I just used one of them in the news. :P

To the topic:
Don't you think this new Titan can be the final version (games development is quite complex process :)) of "Titan" from this concept art:

http://www.play3-live.com/news-ps3-les-artworks-de-lordsofshadow-10280.html

One more thing I noticed some time ago - take a look at Pan's coat. Its ornaments looks like those on Gabriel's armour. Is he the part of the Order too?

Well spotted. Though I think it would be a bit weird if a goat man is part of a religious order.  :P

But "something" that's not a man probably know a lot about other strange creatures. :) He for example can be their "informant". Or maybe he was once a man, who knows (he might as well not be present in the final game at all :D).

He could keep record of the monsters you'll encountered, like a beastiary.

Why would they choose Pan as an ally when he's known more for "messing around" than having any sort of discipline?
