Especially since this is the team's first shot at a Castlevania game. I'm not gonna jump in and say the game does Castlevania justice 100% but I'll remain optimistic.

Me too. It's one of the most overlooked gems on the PS2. The action was insanely smooth, fast and effin HARD! Soundtrack kicked ass too. The sequel Nightshade was more of the same, not nearly as cool, but still underrated. I need to play those games again soon.
