The writing is pretty horrible. Patrick Stewart repeats himself so much. And all that big text in the tutorial really turned me off. THIS ATTACK IS UNBLOCKABLE. DO THIS, DO THAT. It's like the game was almost playing itself. The game just explains too much, every second, even for a tutorial.
At least the rest of the game won't be that. I mean, it better not.

It was nice to see the demo, start to finish, but man was it jumpy.

"I AM SLEEPING, OH LOOK A MAGIC HORSE ON FIRE, AND IT TALKS! LET ME RIDE IT WITHOUT QUESTION!"

I'm hoping they're cutting scenes out for demo's sake, cause that is a weird transition and SUDDENLY HORSE ON FIRE.

Dude I'd be pretty weirded out if a blue veined horse talked to me and said "get on my back", but if I was being chased by werewolves and Warg's I wouldn't have done the same thing Gabe did and trust the magic horse.

I think they've been only showing us certain things, and not playing their whole card, on purpose. They are just baiting the hook, so to speak. We have enough info---date, characters, plot, etc. plus a ton of gorgeous screens, some vids and an excellent trailer. It seems they just want us to be wowed when we play the game. Now granted, there could be more vids/screens/info released before the release, but who knows.

Speaking of the release...I was believing it was Oct 19th. But now seeing it's confirmed 2 weeks earlier on Oct 5th just makes me very happy!  ;D

Is the CE being released the same date as the regular version?

Random talking horse was the best random talking horse. I love how it just comes from a portal while Gabriel just woke up. Game just going, stop angsting Gabriel, time to kick ass. And Gabe just rolls with it.

I bet there will be more to the talking horse than that---I'm sure there's an explanation of who/what he is and why he suddenly appears. Plus, it's not like there hasn't been a ton of non-human characters speaking in past games. Sure it may seem silly at first to have a talking horse, but it's CV for Pete's sake. Plenty of magic/supernatural things happening, so a talking horse isn't a very big deal.

You say that like I like the talking animals in other Castlevanias. Not that I actually remember any.

There's a talking lizardman in Castlevania 64 and Legacy of Darkness.

I had no idea there was a cow in SotN. That actually made me laugh, thank you.

Any weird events like a talking horse shouldn't have to be explained, but there probably is a story behind it. Me, I just take it all in stride since I see Castlevania as a series that's a cliche in itself. That's part of it's charm though, and it makes jumping into the games effortless and more fun.

Well we have talking familiars, lizardmen, and monsters of all kinds throughout the series and a horse weirds people out? It's a bit silly I admit but just roll with it. It's a game with magical/supernatural elements afterall, and as I said before, I bet there's a bit of backstory as to the who/why the horse is what he/it is.

Now as for the release, I assume the CE will be available the same date as the regular version correct?

Ah, I think the cow is one of the shield rod summons.
