I recently started playing the game and I must say, this game is kicking my ass royally (playing on Knight mode).  To those who say that button mashing works in this game, you are DEAD wrong.  It took me awhile to get used to the controls, I was more used to Lament and CoD's controls (never played God of War).  I am still practicing on my counter and dodge mechanics, I died a lot and some are embarrassing as hell.  The number of times I cursed during the death scenes were numerous.  That said, I am happy with the game, very much so.  Finally, a challenging game that pushed me to do better.  I cannot wait to finish the rest of the game, what a nice birthday gift indeed.

P.S. I did find some glitches in the PS3 version, like Gabriel floating in the air and a giant troll was about to attack him and Claudia missing some body parts in the cut scenes, thankfully, it didn't last. Seeing the game on youtube doesn't really give it justice.  The graphics were a sight to behold on a HD TV.  I marveled at the efforts of MercurySteam  in designing this game.

I was so looking foward to the LE but for £64.99 I don't think it's worth it for music I can find online and art I can find online.
I just wish I could have the mask  :(

Nevermind, I will be off to get my standard edition tomorrow then  ;D

Wow. That is expensive. I paid 80.00 US, plus tax, about 85. I just used a currency calculator, and that would be 50.00 in GBP. Why is the PAL 65.00 GBP? Jesus, that's about 100.00 US. Sounds like a huge rip off, 20 bucks more. Maybe try another web site? I just bought the limited edition here, and I must say it's a very nice package. Everything comes in a book with an embossed cover. One of the nicer/better looking limited editions of a game I have if not the best. Though perhaps not up to par with Working Designs PSone games like Lunar 1 and 2. Though this one seems just right and not too ridiculous. The Halo Reach Limited Edition package looks HUGE!!!! While this one takes up about as much space on my rack as a normal game, which I think is fantastic.

Seems that my save file got deleted right at the last battle, chapter XII.

Fuck this game, I'm done. Looking forward to the next entry.

But that being said, that's also where I felt the influence of the early games coming into play. Sure with LoS the early chapters/levels may not feel very CV-ish, but you have to work your way up to it! This game keeps building upon itself! Give it a little time...trudge through the early levels and then soon you'll all see the big picture.

Its not that the first levels don't feel like Castlevania, you can see CV II, III and IV influences, its just for a reboot people are a little bit more critical I think.

Halfway through chapter 3, I really like how the game is building up. And furthermore, why are people comparing this to GoW?? They're very different games.

Ouch. That is horrible.

I'm near the end of Chapter 7 now. It definitely got a lot better after Wygol.
The dream reveals the reality, which conception lags behind. That is the horror of life - the terror of art.

Alright, has this been speculated upon yet.

I think I read a thread about "how does Gabriel become Dracula" and some think in the DLC coming that it will tie that together with the ending.  Well, has it been thought that just like the Lords of shadow were the dark counterparts to the three that went to heaven as angels, Gabriel goes too and his dark half is left behind which becomes Dracula?

Nobody knows yet it seems like it would make sense. But it makes a lot of sense the other way too. Suppose he tried to ascend but God cursed him to be Dracula. who knows?

Wow, that, actually makes a lot of sense. Dracula has always been the Yang to the Belmonts Yin, Gabriel becoming exactly what they hunt only seems natural. VERY good theory.

Maybe God had a change of heart?Zobek somehow manipulates Gabriel to kill her because she knew what Zobek was up to no good somehow Zobek manipulates Gabriel to put that mask on and when he did,Zobek had total control over his actions and Gabriel has no memory of it (just like he had no memory of killing Claudia)Zobeck tell's Gabriel the Lords Of Shadow killed your wife and Marie knows it was not Gabriel's fault that he killed her,I hope we get to see Gabriel get sweet revenge on Zobek.Oh,did'nt Zobeck have control over that gauntlet on Gabriel's hand and arm?
