Totally with you guys (on the last 2 posts)! Yes, Founder's Quarters has such a nice atmo. Love that they used the art of the members in those paintings. Great stuff. Can't wait for Ressurection. I wonder if Frankenstein's monster will be in it, as a sub-boss at least. I hope so. The fingers reference in Reverie and other nods, sure tease it.

Wait, are the statues on the shrines room the same ones of the epilogue? Ooohh
Very good eye. I didn't really catch that until someone mentioned it.

Reverie is just one small appetizer for Resurrection.

Really? I found it pretty laughable
Looks more like the animatic of a cutscene than any particular art direction.

One should always keep an open mind. That said, I didn't care much for the cut scenes either. They seem to imply that Konami allotted Mercury Steam a pathetically small budget for producing the DLC, which doesn't bode well for Resurrection.

Castlevania should always have been about Dracula I'm not complaining for this new direction, I want a baddie I actually care about you know?
It's like saying "Nolan's Batman films are awful they are only the "emo tale of bruce Wayne"" or "Legacy of Kain sucks it's just Kain's nonsensical biography"
---

Eh, not really the same thing. Nolan's films stayed pretty true to the Batman mythos, and didn't really try to reinvent anything.

I'm all about getting to know Dracula's past, and making him a tragic villain. But I don't know if I want the reboot to begin and end with an anti-hero dracula. I've really enjoyed the game so far otherwise, though. And I do agree that the castle atmosphere is excellent.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I expected Belmonts vs Dracula.

We're getting Belmont is Dracula vs everything else.

Yeah 'cause Ra's al ghul was Batman's teacher, Two face was created by the joker and batman drove a thank :P .. he practically readapted the whole mythos just like these guys are doing it and @OSM: We only have one game and 2 hours of DLC I think we know nothing yet.

Everything comes full circle

Man Mercury Steam loves puzzles.

Zobek's blood challenge was pretty great.

Now you're just pointing out minor changes. Nolan's films were, far and away, the most fathful to the source material. Turning a Belmont into Dracula would be more like turning Batman into the Joker, if you're gonna make comparisons.

They were faithful but were not enclosed by the source (and two-face creation minor change really?) And Dracula is not the hero we haven't seen Dracula, he'll probably be the same one we know but for know we only know Gabriel Belmont so why the bashing?

Everything comes full circle

I prefer to have a bad guy who is just that...BAD. I'm tired of bad guys being nothing more than tragic or misunderstood. Old school Dracula was evil. Sure, he lost his wife...he didn't run around crying about it though. He defies God and tells Him to f*** off! That's the kind of villain I want.

I understand it's a different direction, but this plot is just too silly for me to take it seriously.

And a wife-whip isn't? A japanese schoolboy being Drac's reincarnation?

Your judgments are premature. There's a 1000 year long gap between his "tragic transformation" and the modern era, so who knows what will happen. I highly doubt that Mercury Steam would be setting this up just for Dracula to be a pathetic "woe is me" chump hiding around for ages. Already there have been hints that Gabe's getting fed up with God, so you can probably expect him to tear some shit up in due time.

Everything since Aria of Sorrow was pretty silly plot wise as well.

Gabe sounds so ready to be Dracula now.

Never said they weren't silly. We're discussing LoS in this thread, right? And my judgments are based on what we know already happened, not what may happen.

Don't give me that, you praised the other side and then dismissed the ongoing plot for Lords. It was a comparative statement and you know it.

??? I'm not trying to bash anything. I just think it's not accurate to compare the batman reboot with the cv preboot. I understand that things must be changed in a reboot, but MS took one of the most fundamental aspects of the series (regardless if this version of drac becomes a villain or not) and changed it..
