This little tid bit from 1 up on 07/25/2009 might help ya out.
"Fans of Koji "IGA" Igarashi can rest easy -- Konami has confirmed that the man who's overseen the Castlevania series for the last 12 years is still with the developer and working on new projects.
Ever since 1997's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Igarashi has been the steward of the Castlevania franchise, going on to produce a couple of console titles and numerous entries on the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. But when Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima was revealed to be guiding Castlevania: Lords of Shadow at E3 (a new entry in development at Madrid-based MercurySteam), it led many to wonder what this meant for Igarashi's role with Konami -- or if he was even still employed there.
But speaking with Kotaku during Comic-Con, Konami spokesman Jay Boor passed on the reassuring news. "He is still at Konami, and he is still working on projects," Boor said. No details about what these projects are were given, although Konami hopes to reveal one of the projects at Tokyo Game Show later this year.
Maybe more intriguing, though, is what Boor refused to comment on. Asked if Igarashi would have any involvement at all with Lords of Shadow, Boor wouldn't confirm one way or another. Moreover, when asked whether a new Castlevania title would be released for the DS this year, Boor said, "I can't say anything."So for now, it looks like we'll have to wait until TGS to find out exactly what Igarashi has in store for gamers. G4: So, is this defining what the clean break – what Konami’s relationship with [Koji] Igarashi-san is?
Cox: No, I don’t think so. I know Igarashi’s company is working on projects. I don’t know anything more than that. So, I’m sure he’s gonna make some big announcements and I’m sure he’s other things. He’s a very talented guy.
