Look at you guys turning against IGA. So what if he has some shitty side project for a downloadable game? I don′t care. He made so many excellent games and I love him for that. I hope he makes more, now there is chance for 3DS and the game would look amazing! I am sure actually, that he is up to something.

If anyone wants some co-op CV now you have it! Go play or shut up. IGA WILL be back and the game will rock! As for Remix of Despair, at least the art looks nice.

What I find interesting about Harmony of Despair is the discrepancy between the reception to the game here and to the broader public. It's reviled here, and, frankly I'm in agreement-its recycling is beyond lazy and its exclusive appeal, being multi-player functionality, is of no use to me and something the franchise didn't need-but in the real world a lot of people seem pretty excited about it. If you read the threads on Kotaku and other game sites it's going down pretty well.
If I forgot "everything I knew about Castlevania" I certainly wouldn't be excited about a new one coming out now would I?

The sooner he wasn't needed, he was pretty much thrown in the garbage. And I don't mean not being given LoS. I mean what the angry LoS mob is doing now.

I got nothing against the man. I hope he'll have a steady career, even if he won't make any more CVs after this.

I'll give him lots of kudos for his Adventure ReBirth title and will trust that he knows what he is doing for this title for now.

From rllmuk, on Konami's 3DS possibilities:

KONAMI
Baseball franchise
Contra franchise
Frogger franchise
HIDEO KOJIMA’S METAL GEAR SOLID SNAKE EATER 3D
“The Naked Sample”
PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER franchise /
WINNING ELEVEN franchise

Can't see Castlevania there yet.  Nintendo conference had a lot of technical problems (Zelda), but easily overrode the poor MS effort.  I'm warming more to Metroid now.
That's the initial list. I don't doubt we'll, eventually, see a CV game for the 3DS. I mean, Capcom didn't list any Mega Man games for the 3DS either, and I'd think THEY'D go all out with the Blue Bomber. They COULD be holding something up their sleeves, as well, waiting until the 3DS gets better established, then bring Mega out.

And, that picture of IGA playing LoS cracks me up. It looks like IGA's thinking to himself, "So, THIS is how you do it! My god, I thought it was the other way!! Well, if I ever get to do another 3D CV game, I'll be sure to play this one with a notepad and pencil in hand."

Did anyone see the presentation by IGA? I just watched it.
The game looks - dare I say it - fun!

You can team up and take down enemies and bosses, and the maps looked much larger than in those screens we've seen.

IGA said that they will add characters and stages if the game sells. Weird thing to say at a press conference, but it only goes to show that Konami isn't really giving IGA much space anymore. They wanna see him deliver, or else they won't support his projects.

Harmony of Despair could go either way. The Castlevania fanbase isn't exactly excited about this, so I'm guessing this is gonna bomb.

I still think IGA needs to make his 1999 game before moving on to something else.  Even though his timeline is a little rocky, he can come to a close with that game.

Hell, If Iga makes this and a 3DS castelvania, I'll take em. This isn't the end of castlevania. You guys relax. It essentially looks like Castlevania Smash Bros... Which is awesome.
Go. Set Forth! Both your own life and hers are at stake.

Yeah. That's the one trump card left for him to play. If people are gonna keep tearing him apart, I hope he at least manages to go down in style.

It is supremely ironic that Harmony of Despair is seemingly getting better press than Lords of Shadow!  :o

As for IGA, I don't blame the guy for trying new things now and then. (Just wish he would create a more complete 3D or 2D Castlevania before going on these side-projects). Still, I think ReBirth, which he had a hand in, was spectacular. And Dracula X Chronicles was a rather nice surprise, as well. I'd love to hear his thoughts on LOS.

Strange, I though Lords of Shadow was highly praised by even the most mainstream gaming sites, especially considering it's a 3D Castlevania game.

And as for his thoughts on LOS, he was probably playing the game and thinking "Why didn't I think of this?"

Holy crap, that doesn't look too bad. The backgrounds are super polished, almost, might I even say, better looking than SotN's backgrounds. Wow!
