I love DXC artwork, Ayami did fantastic work with Richter, Maria and Dracula. It is my favorite artwork of them. Drac looks intimidating and very evil, Richter looks strong and powerful (also a cool haircut, lol) and Maria looks like a gentle and innocent girl. I don′t care much about those 3 damsels in distress.

What are you saying? The prisoners gave more reason to explore the secrets and get 100% in Rondo.   While Ayami ruined Maria's art, she did a good job with Annette's art (human and vampire). Though I still prefer everyone's original Rondo appearances.

But back to Harmony of Despair, only two more weeks until the masterpiece is released!   Already have the MS points ready!   ^.^

I have never heard anyone calling a game a "masterpiece" before they've even played it.

It must be kinda nice! You just pick any random game and say "I have decided to love this gaem!". Then you actually play the game (dun dun DUN!) and - behold - you love it, regardless of what it is. I predict Affinity is gonna hail Harmony of Despair as the best Castlevania since SotN, even after he's played it (Oh wait, he's already doing that...). It would kinda embarrasing for him if (after weeks of promoting it) he discovers that HD has - dare I say it - flaws!  :o

I know what you mean here. I know this feeling all-to-well. It's happened to me often enough with videogames. For instance, with me it was with super mario all stars. Eversince seeing the camercial I wanted that game like no tomorrow and I knew it would be a blast to play. needless to say I wasn't dissapointed.  ;)

ACHIEVEMENTS release!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/castlevania-harmony-of-despair/achievements/

So fun and exciting achievements to earn!  Yay!   ;D   Castlevania fans rejoice!

SOTN has flaws but it's still a great game.  But Harmony of Despair will be much better for fans like me
that are more interested in Harmony of Despair's refreshing twist to the formula, 6p online co-op, survival, 5 of our favorites finally playable on console on the big screen (minus Alucard since SOTN originated on console), and all the goodies to find and collect as well as the new layouts of each castle stage with teamwork and more refreshing fun that only Harmony of Despair can provide!   :D

Ya fans have their own preferences so no one is really wrong with which Castlevania they prefer the most for their own reasons.     ;D

Of course. I'm just amused how you already "prefer" a game that isn't even out on the market yet, that's all.  :D
I wouldn't even call Fumito Uedas "The Last Guardian" a masterpiece, even though it most likely will end up being one, more so than any other upcoming game I can think of at this moment. But we're all different.

My favorite Castlevania EVAARRRR is the 1999 game, it is soooo KUUUL. OMG!, I am so in love with that!!!1 I am sealing Dracula in the solar eclipse for good, wowow! If you don′t like it as much as I do, you are no CV fan.

Hey, IGA, IGA′s minion Affinity, make it come true!  ;)

P.S. Ayami Kojima for artwork and Yamane for music (guest composers are welcome, too)

Yeah, really one has to play the game before deciding it's a great game (or even a good game).

well I was never wrong about Simon's Quest, CVIII, CV4, Dracula X, Rondo of Blood, SOTN, CoTM, AoS, DoS, Portrait of Ruin (don't argue with this if you hate it! :p), and Order of Ecclesia before I played them.   ;D

Heh heh, that's called "Self-fulfilling Prophecy".

It's also you Jedi-Mind-Tricking yourself prior to your purchase.

It also happens AFTER purchases in order to trick yourself into thinking your purchases were justified.  Sort of 'willing yourself' into believing something is great because you already bought it.

I've done it with a few shirts I've bought.  Happens a lot with games, too.

My opinion?  It 'could' be a great game, at least gameplay-wise, but I like my Castlevania adventures to be a solo ordeal, and this seems like it's sort of going the Four Sword Adventures route; yeah it could be good but even at its very best it won't beat a single-player CV... and the plot (if there even is one) is sure to be more paper thin than the regular Metroidvanias, if that's even freakin' possible.

yet single player and story isn't going to convince players to keep playing for years to come.  (maybe those single player story games are played once a year. but players years from now who play CV:HD with friends will be playing this at least once every week/month, if not every day/week.)

People still play TMNT arcade once in a while to this day because it can be played with others online.  ;D
I remember on XBLive the first year TMNT was released, there was tons of players playing it every day for the whole year (and beyond), even this clan called the Shell Shockers (lol a clan for TMNT?).   Of course nowadays there's no one really on.

But that was just a linear arcade game with no loot to find or more unique playable characters to use in more open enviornment,  but Harmony of Despair has plenty of reasons to come back for more, even after you 100% everything.    And 6 player co-op means bigger groups will choose this game to play with their friends together (instead of 4 playing and 2 doing something else like is the case with generally all online co-op games out there. The only exception being America's Army and it's 16 player co-op.)

Harmony of Despair will truly revolutionize friends playing online together with the Castlevania flavor, and that's something never experienced before at this level of nostalgia, quality online and big screen goodness with some Castlevania favorites available and possible room for expansion!!!
And that's just the surface of this exciting release!  ^.^
