I think we need a "Castlevania cycle" image... the series has MORE than deserved it.

oh yes it if releases on PSN, even more will be able to enjoy the ultimate and most fun Castlevania of all time (in my opinion)!    ^_^

Konami probably won't give PSN version any more DLC than the XBL version, but if they knew any better, they would continue to support it with more chapters and characters DLC, or develop a direct sequel with a lot more added!  There's so many possibilities for a Castlevania Harmony of Despair series! ;D

Maybe they can also merge the 1999 story with a Harmony of Despair 2, so people can still play with 6 players online, as well use all their favorite characters for extra replay value and other bonuses besides the single player version of the story.   Maybe they could remove the timer as well, so players can play at their own pace, but keep the skeleton rules, they are interesting and allow friends to continue playing.

There are many ways to expand upon this!   :)

heh, wouldn't call this the most fun Castlevania game ever, but I do find myself playing it a lot more consistently than other recent Castlevania titles.  i tended to play those for a while, then put them down for a while, then pick them up and make a little more progress on them etc.  still haven't beaten OoE (at Dracula, but don't feel I have enough firepower to beat him yet).  but i've been consistently playin HD about twice a day since getting it six weeks ago.

it is just a simple game to pick up and play.  although it certainly has a lot of repetition, i find i learn something new most times i play it until i've beaten a level and even afterwards.  haven't gotten that "i'm stuck" feeling yet, yet it's providing a respectable challenge.

Same here. I've been subweapon grinding with Richter for 2 weeks now. Just have to beat R. Drac and Astarte, for single player on hard, but I really want to try multiplayer to see how it plays. I just can't put this down lately.  It's funny how many bosses seem impossible at first, only to learn their patterns fairly quickly, and finally being able to minimize mistakes to beat them. It can be pretty fun.

No disrespect meant, but how in the world can you feel that ANY of the bosses patterns are impossible? They are so blatant and obvious that it's ridiculous. If you think this is hard, you should try castlevania III for the nes, or the x68000 version of Castlevania (castlevania chronicles on psx). They would make you want to literally slit your own throat.

Um...I own and have beaten CVIII and Chronicles. o_O

What I'm talking about is playing the game on Hard, getting to the boss the very first time, and getting destroyed. And it does make it harder with luck gear, master rings, etc., equipped. Obviously I don't think they're impossible if I'm beating them eventually. I'm talking about how the first fight can seem overwhelming on Hard Mode (at least with bosses like Dracula and Stage 11's boss).

I don't consider myself bad at Castlevania, and Harmony of Despair is tough as old boots frequently enough. Then again, I didn't develop my characters that far in, so maybe I was just inadequately prepared for some situations.

I think one thing the game does right is make wall meat et al desirable and genuinely useful again.

Chapter 11 is a NIGHTMARE in HoD.  I've played it dozens of times already but I still can't even manage to get to the boss.  I can beat 2 sub-bosses at most, but am whittled down slowly and never make it any farther than that.

I find that the difficultly is really unfair.  Enemies move retardedly fast, have at least 4x the health of regular enemies from previous levels, and there's just so many of them.  I don't especially mind this, since the game does in a way get progressively more difficult, but grinding for the best items in Chapter 11 just seems unlikely for me, since I can't even reach the boss.

Is this true?
If so, YES!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Considering Castlevania leaks almost always have weight to them (the leaks of the XBL release emphasize this), and considering this is coming from the same source that assumed Harmony of Despair was a Castlevania game, I would greatly assume so.

If doubt still exists, wait till June 2nd.
