Maybe i should do the same. Then again, 7 Eleven is not that far from here so i can just wait until it comes out. Either that or i can just wait for my friend to buy it then i can download it from him.

Man, this is late 2002 all over again for me.

hahaha xD well for me there isn't a 7 Eleven anywhere nearby so I just bought in preparation so I don't need to worry about getting one when I can't go out. Man this has to be the first time I've been anticipating a game to the point I keep on looking up stuff about it.

To make it simpler for myself, I decided to join this forum xD

Me i'm just replaying my metroidvania games just to pass the time. Or better yet, most of my castlevania games in general. That way i wont have to suffer from waiting for it to be release. Though it won't be the end of it once the game comes out cause there's more games i'm looking forward to.

Once school starts I can easily just indulge myself with the work I have to do xD Also got other projects as well, but like you I'm gonna play through some castlevania games to pass the time. Right now Im doing OOE and Harmony of Dissonance (The later only when Im out). Though running through Rondo of Blood a few times is always fun, least I can get to stage 2 - 3 and earn a life with the no damage bonus.

Also forgot to mention while waiting for this game, i'm also playing the hell out of Serio's Castlevania Fighter. Its probably the best game to play while waiting despite being a fan game. The only thing that irks me about that game is when the cpu gets ahold of the player version of Death or Hammer, the cpu just does the most annoying things with them.

Oh yeah, also grabbed that game too. Though haven't had much time to play it, been playing OOE instead xD But that game for sure is alot of fun (helps me get practice for Richter's whip + spin kick combo)

hmm sources appear to be pointing at September 20 release.   Well Summer lasts until around that point, so it would make more sense than the 27th.   ;D

True that, and that would keep up how Konami operates:
1) Give vague time of release
2) Release on time
3) Release as near the end of that vague time as possible

... Well, joking on that xD but seriously, that's my assumption as well. I have school work to keep me busy, and Im trying to get ahead of my work now, so when the game comes out I can enjoy it for all its worth on day one.

Would it be ok to say it to me seems a bit inbetween the classic and metroidvania? If you think about it, the classics just gave you a goal to reach with brutal difficulty to reach it, and the metroidvania just added the equipment, special attacks, and stats. The game doesn't succeed perfectly, but the blend is still pretty fun regardless.

Its only those who want only one or the other that will pick a bone with the game (that and some of the balancing issues like that valmannway)

That's not Konami though.  Ultimately, they pass the game onto Sony or Microsoft, and then it is completely in their hands, as to when they decide to release them on their online systems.  It sucks, cause it makes Konami looks lazy and flaky, but there's nothing they can do except saying "soon", since they've already done their part.  Same thing happened with HoD when it was released on Xbox live.  It took MS FOREVER to release it, and then even longer for the download content.  It was extremely sporadic, and some weeks, out of nowhere, BAM, download content, without Konami even announcing.  It was obviously a case of MS being a bunch of douches.  Seems Sony are doing the same.

Well we also need to account for the playstation PLAY event, which possibly Sony or Konami made the call to wait till the event was over. Another theory is that they are making more modifications to the game asides the 4 player local co op. If we think of another DLC that was once an MS exclusive (Castle Crashers), the PS3 port was favored and had all the DLC in it. Since that only Julius and Yoko were announced to be together, it could mean that another set of DLC is being planned for the game (asides the DLC already available for the MS version). There's also the possibility of the other existing DLC is going to be available for purchase right off the bat or being planned out for a typical monthy release (though the latter doesn't make much sense, since its just a port). Last theory is that the game was being adjusted for balancing issues; make all the characters play a little better or have more PS3 exclusive item drops being added.

Who really knows what the reasons are xD Im just happy that the game is being ported to PSN, and people won't need to pay to play online

Well the days are slowly passing, and the final Tuesday is drawing closer and closer. I wonder if the game will come out then? though Konami can't back out now, this close to what has to be the definite release date. Then again it could be Sony holding up the release due to their final game for the PLAY promotion was released yesterday.

So asides from Sony holding up the release and my own speculations of new things being added to the game (asides offline coop), anyone else got theories as to why its taking them as long as it is? Ports generally shouldn't be that hard to do, so something is either disturbing the process or something new is being added (again, offline coop aside xD).
