Topic: Harmony of Despair (The next Castlevania game?)

I'll probably still buy this day 1, but assuming it comes out next Tuesday...I'll be busy playing Ico/SotC HD. Maybe I'll squeeze some time in over the weekend. Honestly, I got so tired of waiting for it that my hype has diminished quite a bit.

The announcement might be interesting, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Well it seems they're gonna keep us in the dark till the end. Like you my hype for it has died a bit, but Im still looking very much forward to playing the game. I pretty much studied ahead of my classes just to play the game without having to worry xD But an actual announcement would be nice, though thats the only date left.

On a side note, when is the anniversary for Castlevania anyways? All I know is that it was I think after the TGS or somewhere around there (even the TGS date I don't now xD)

The Anniversary arrives officially on Monday, September 26.

Ah I see, a day before Harmony of Despair's psn release... Guess assumptions is all there that Harmony of Despair would be used to celebrate it. Although, Im pretty sure the majority of the fanbase won't be happy with that alone.

Hopefully Konami will announce another castlevania game or something of the sort during the anniversary.

For the 20th we got the pre order bonus pack with Portrait of Ruin

I guess PoR itself qualified as Konami's 20th anniversary tribute to the series, given how it references just about every game in some fashion or another.

That is very selfish thing to say! You are hating against HD,  so why bother posting on this HD thread?    HD actually fits as anniversary tribute really nicely. 

HD on PSN is better than nothing, fans wouldn't want nothing, and millions who don't have 360 will greatly enjoy it (veterans will too with the fresh community),

Things like 1999 war wouldn't make it on time for anniversary release since it seems Konami may still not decide when to give IGA the green light on a project or they need more time studying the 3DS if they choose that for the platform.

HD is very fitting for anniversary since it includes many many favorite characters, gameplay styles and locations from many generations of Castlevania, and also combining the classic formulas with the newer Castlevania formulas into something super fun even after getting 100% of the stuff, while still preserving the 2-D gameplay that fits Castlevania best!   Even if they don't add new DLC, it's still technically very new to the majority of the PS3 masses and still more fresh, flexible and fun than playing through something like SOTN all over again.     

as for XBLA getting something new, well who knows, but remember a lot of console owners have been out of the loop when 2-D Castlevania series became exclusive on GBA/DS for years, so they already got their turn for Castlevania goodness, now it's PS3's turn.
