Topic: Poll: Got 3DS?

I got a 3DS at launch and I'm totally regretting it.

I was promised awesome new titles, and the return of an astounding series dead for 11 years on a cliff hanger. Now I have no reaosn to have it, since nothing worth while came out on it that isn't A) a port ive already played or B) DSiWare (love Shantae DS).

Geez I feel like a minority here, I bought it for a portable Street Fighter, got DOA Dimensions, and Zelda, but I also like the fact that nintendo as been kind enough to give early adaptors some freebies for our troubles, I also had a couple of games that I didn't care for to much too, so I see both sides.
 
 Hey atleast we have some stuff coming out, after the little wait, Starting this month I'll get Mario and Shinob I'll wait for RE and MGS. so 7 games makes it worth it to me, hell I have less than that for my Neo Pocket and I was happy.

Im waiting for a castlevania to come out for it

Funny I was just about to start a discussion about 3ds castlevania since I am currently playing zelda and having a blast. I am disappointed that the N64 castlevania will NEVER make it to the 3ds because the developers were never happy with those 2 titles and even said they should never have been a part of the series. This gives little to no hope of us ever seeing that happen. I must be one of the few who actually finished and enjoyed castlevania on the N64 because I only hear bad about it.

On the other hand I would love to see a new castlevania title on the 3ds that actually takes full advantage of the system and plays like all of the other hand held castlevania games from the previous 2 generations of hand helds. I played all of the GBA and DS games and love them except OOE that game was not fun at all compared to the other 2 on the DS. The difficulty seemed drastically increased next to the other games which was hard to get used to but a welcome change from the others which were a bit easy. But I did not like the way items were handled or the glyph system mostly glyphs that kinda made the game suck all on it's own for me.

So yes I own a 3ds and like the rest of us here I am waiting to see what happens with the castlevania series. I am nervous because I have been let down a lot by the series recently the exception being the hand held titles but OOE started pushing those to the edge as well.

I am also interested in the dragon quest series the mana series and a few others. I think I will pick up street fighter 4 and starfox 64 3d as well since those are some great launch titles to have in my collection. I still like pulling starfox out and playing it on my 64 from time to time it should be amazing in 3d.

What are some other games you guys think would be good on this system?

Also who else thinks nintendo hand helds are built like a brick shithouse? I was really impressed by the quality of the 3ds very solid and everything is very responsive and precise I really love it.

OoE is perhaps my most favorite DS game. I loved how they increased the difficulty level. PoR wasn't even fun due to how easy it was.

A brick shithouse? I have never heard of that saying before. Do tell me, what the hell is that supposed to mean?

I can only assume that it means something positive, because then in your next statement, you said something positive about the 3DS, which is a nintendo hand held.

A brickihouse can mean solid, remember the song "She's a brick house" (Youtube the song and it's about how good a woman as the singer sees). As for a shit brickhopuse, I digress, I've never heard of it.

Funny I have a love hate relationship with the N64 Castlevania's, I like playing the games, but the graphics were weird even for the era they came out in (I'm not saying their bad, I just think they were odd to me anyways), the music has some strong tracks(I really like the track where you are assending to the castle keep) and some really weak ones, and the story and character designs were cool, for the most part anyways.

I would have considered getting one if only for Mega Man Legends 3.

But since Capcom has canceled that, fuck the 3DS. Its library sucks right now. Ports and remakes everywhere.

Nintendo announced a solid release line for 2012, so hopefully the 3DS can even compete with the vita at this point.

i was impressed with the 3D. However i'm disappointed at the titles thus far. The only noteworthy titles seem to be Super Mario 3D land and LoZ Ocarina of time. I'm still furious they didn't give Starfox 64 3D online play! WHY?! I am lucky enough to partake in the Ambassador program but after the nes games release i've lowered my standards for the GBA games.

I think the 3Ds will be the first handheld of nintendo i wont buy...it is a shame, but i cant handle that 3D effect. My eye´s starting burning in a few secs and i dont see shit because so many tears coming. screw this. im too old for that i guess :/

maybe with Cv and not turning on the 3D effect at all, but i dont think so...

I have the 3D effect turned off for SML3D because it makes it harder for me to perceive depth correctly.  The game is still fun without the 3D effect turned on.  Would you buy it if the next CV game was a 3DS exclusive?
