I thought it was a pretty good read, and eaten by Mandragorae is an interesting way for Alucard to go.  There's nothing saying you have to copy what's in the game exactly; I see nothing wrong with putting your own spin on the creature's origins in a fictional story.

Some sort of crazy dryad thing that's merged with the smiling tree thing and sings it songs to keep it happy or something?
