I like this thread. It's like a compilation of all other threads about Cox, the 25th Anniversary, LoS, Konami, the Demon Castle Wars, but this time, it's FOR REALZ! XD

Yep, this thread is basically a bunch of recycled things that has been said for years now.

so in other words, this thread is......... HARMONY OF DISPAIR!

don't try to bait me into one of your long-winded debates DPA

we already know how Konami operates, they flubbed the anniversary already since we're getting something late, so i'm not gonna get my hopes up & pray for a HD 1999 game when it'll probably be something else entirely and a lot less stellar

I want to see official confirmation on what Konami's doing for the Anniversary at the Tokyo Game Show or I'm calling this "Bullshit".  Damn that's a long time to wait....

Long winded debates huh lol.

I was simply just asking you to explain your self more thats all.

But excuss me If I still hope and pray that they actually do make a good anniversary game and not just some lame wallpaper, encyclopedia,or a soundtrack compilation.

I want to be optimistic here and hope for the best since this is one of my favorite  gaming series and I would like to have something good to celebrate the 25 anniversary.

Here's how you celebrate Castlevania 25th;

Two collections:

1) A 3DS Collection with Adventure, Belmont's Revenge, Legends, CotM, HoD, Aos, DoS, PoR and OoE. The gba games should have been reworked into double screen goodness so you can see the map/status at all times.

2) A PS3/360 collection with EVERY other CV on it, including Judgment without wiimote controls.

Had Konami started planning for the 25th anniversary in time, this could've happen. It's the proper thing to do. Will it happen now? Absolutely not.

of course i'm not saying i wouldn't want to see it happen, hell yeah i do. but for Konami to suddenly say "hey guys here's your 1999 game you've wondered about since 2003" is raising the bar too high for them, which is why i said it's UNLIKELY but certainly not impossible. so i'm expecting something that'll celebrate this milestone in a more.. material way.

even if they did release a teaser trailer for it, it's definately not coming out anytime soon atleast for another year so it does nothing to celebrate the 25th anniversary anyway. i want them to make something with the anniversary in mind, something that'll reflect upon 25 years of CV.

Besides which is more feasible: piece(s) of memorabilia, ReBirth 2, Dracula's Curse remake for 3DS/classicvania 3DS port, or HD 2.5D 1999 Demon Castle War for 360/ps3?

I really hope it's not just a collection. I would like to have a new game AND a collection if possible, a new game alone would be enough for me.

Maybe they're going to remake or make a new Simon Belmont game.

why would people want a Castlevania III remake when there's nothing wrong with the original?  More advanced graphics doesn't mean it would look better, play as good or be as creative as an actually new Castlevania.

It would probably end up looking and playing bad like that new upcoming Double Dragon remake/spinoff or Turtles in Time ReShelled.  Dracula X Chronicles graphics/art style wouldn't do it justice (which contains Kojima's worst character designs, not as bad as the Judgement art done by that other artist, but still doesn't do the original designs justice.  Good thing she redeemed herself with the Harmony of Despair versions, but she crossed the line too much with DXC designs, even Dracula shouldn't been altered too much.  The original Rondo Dracula actually more closely resembles SOTN Dracula, considering SOTN takes place only 2 years after Rondo.  I'd say the only 2 good designs that came out of DXC was Shaft and Succubus Annette.)

While the Castlevania fanbase isn't as large and as loud like MGS fanbase, I think it would be better to push for the 1999 war to be developed than some remake of a classic that people know like the back of their hand.

The thing is, if there's a game coming for the anniversary, and it's just beginning production, it will be very, very, very bad.
I bet the anniversary gift won't be game-related at all.

And did you see how Cox called his team his "CV: LoS" team and not MercurySteam? Interesting

I disagree.

There was nothing wrong with with CV1 or CV Rondo of blood but that was no reason to not make a reboot for them right?

Some great games can be made even better as evidenced by Super Castlevania 4 and Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles.

If DXC has shown us anything it is that castlevania can work pretty well and look pretty will in 2.5D.

Now that was only for a PSP mind you.

Just imagine it with HD 2.5D graphics complete with the CV3DC gameplay and style on a console like PS3 or Xbox360.

How could CV fan NOT want this would be my question. ;D

If there's a game coming for the anniversary, it's NOT going to be released ON the anniversary. It's going to pull a Dissidia. Square announced Dissidia to be released for Final Fantasy's 20th anniversary, but actually delivered it a year late. That's likely to happen here, IF a game is in development.

On thing that would make me laugh my ass off in a crazy maniacal way would be if they announce LoS2, and it's NOT being made by Cox or Mercurysteam, but it being made by Konami of Japan, and is being overseen by IGA. LOL! That would be, in a way, horrible to ALL of us, yet would be bitterly funny. My brain would probably crack in half like a nut, and I'd be shipped off to mental ward.

As for the various things what to expect, I'd actually love ALL of them. I mean, many projects to commemorate the 25th anniversary would actually be fair, considering how important a 25th anniversary IS. Just an artbook or a game wouldn't suffice. Something big. Additional things. A party. A 25th anniversary series of items. Hell, a 3DS game, in addition to another game(be it 3D or 2D), artbook, 25 Year Ultimania-type book, new line of figures and perhaps a new comic series would be fair, IMO. Not that I'm expecting all of that, but that, IMO, would be, pretty much, a fair deal with how big a 25th anniversary is.

Why doesn't Konami do any field trips anymore like they did with CVIII? Some lucky kid won a trip to Dracula's hometown!

Yeah I know it was a sweepstakes, but those are unheard of nowadays

I always wondered about things like that. I mean, I recall Nintendo Power holding a Dragon Warrior(Quest) adventure contest where the winner would be given treasures and such, and be taken on their own adventurous quest to battle monsters and such. You think of this stuff, as a kid, and say, "Wow, imagine going on cool quests!", then years later, you wonder what in the heck WERE these quests anyways. I mean, where did they fly these kids to, and how did they set up these adventures for them? Were the quests really cool and worth winning, or were they half-assed, phoney things that were nothing like the games. And what ever happens to those kids who win these things? You always hear about the contests but never hear about the winners. LOL. It kinda makes you wonder if it's just a scam. Though, regarding the CV thing, it would've been funny had they flew the kid to Romania, took him to see the castle, and to this day, the kid, not a grown man, is still chained up to the dungeon wall in one of Dracula's castles. ;D
