this topic has been brought up before in the past but once again I'd like to know when everybody enjoys their CV best

it's raining here in NY, and the sky keeps changing colors from grey to dark purple.. This puts me in the mood to load up some Super Castlevania IV, cuz the setting is perfect. maybe even some OoE

In the winter solstice I like to play some AoS, especially during twilight hours when the snow is slowly falling & the moon is rising

i can never play Castlevania in the morning.

late at night, when the stars are shining & the moon is bright, one can't deny a glorious Symphony playthru. and sometimes even CV64

when Halloween rolls around, I always have an urge to play Lament for some reason..

I have a tradition on All Hallows' Eve & Samhain. I do my best to marathon through as much of the series as I can.
Also I get the urge to weild a whip when there's a clear night with a crescent moon shining down on me.

Oooo! I likes! I do this too. During the fall (or Autumn) and around Halloween, I get this old school gaming vibe and need to play CV3 or SCV4. Unfortunately the vibe is almost non-existent now then it was when I was still a young kid so fun times like this are so far and few in between.

The best time to play Castlevania is whenever you have Castlevania ROMs on your computer.

Ah! Samhain is the BEST time for CV. When the veil between the worlds is thinnest, as are the walls of the Castlevania. Any and all Castlevania will do then!

Thunderstorms, winds, massive rainfall, all set the mood for CV. Sometimes I read things in Latin or Romanian or look at Ayami's splendid artwork, that puts me in a great vampire-hunting state. Organ music, choirs, they send shivers down my spine and then I just HAVE to take up the whip! That is why Symphony's soundtrack leaves me enraptured and I can play it for a long time and usually do.

I like playing Lament of Innocence around Lammas because of the story of sacrifice surrounding that time (August the first.)

And Order of Ecclesia whenever I feel oppressed. Shanoa is a character I can relate a lot to.

Otherwise, when there's a chill in the air and a full moon shining bright, the only light coming from my TV screen... it's time for my inner vampire huntress to emerge...

I remember the first time I really dove into Symphony of the Night was during the spring of '02. It was a rainy spring here, so now, any time there's spring rain, there is the feeling to celebrate a long history with Castlevania!

Hmm...I guess my enjoyment of the series has never been enhanced by seasons or weather or anything. I prefer to play it at night, but that's the way with most other games, too.

The only thing I can think of like that is when I break out Dimmu Borgir's Enthrone Darkness Triumphant album during snowy winter weather. The album just kinda personifies winter to me, I guess.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

i got a wood right there. and when there is a clearly night and u can see the moon, i put out my old game boy with the magnifying glass and the light with Castlevania Adventure and whipe some monsters. This game did scare the shit out of me when i was a lil boy, so may, thats the reason why i love that one so much. lol
You always will go back to old good classic games.

Autumn gets me in the mood for Castlevania, so I guess by default that would be it. I can however play Castlevania any time though. Typically night works better for consoles, but for handheld it doesn't seem to matter.

Pretty much whenever for me.

Except when I only have DXC and my PSP on me, and I'm outside in the sun. Then I'm screwed. >.>

I just play Castlevania games whenever. Some of 'em are really rich with atmosphere, but outside circumstances never enhanced that for me. Actually, I usually play them in the summer.

Autumn usually gets me in the mood to watch a lot of horror movies, though. But I watch a lot of horror movies year-round anyway... But the cold weather and such, having the windows open, enhances the experience for me.
Oh yeah, and also:

Halloween is an excellent time to play Cv.

Was considering playing through LoS this Halloween, but the game is a tad too long for a single day play-through (at my age anyway)

Thinking of playing through Costume Quest instead (don't get much more perfect than that when it comes a game to play on Halloween)

Would be cool to play through LoI as the Pumpkin.

Whatever the season, Cv is always better in the dark.
