Yeah, so it finally happened.  After one year and 2 months of 360 awesomeness, I got the RRoD.  The weird thing is, though, that after letting it Red Ring for about 10 minutes, I started playing it again for a good 20 minutes...I don't know if it will comeback, but I think I'm going to treat this like a terminal disease and enjoy my last hours of Halo 3 on Live before it happens again, and then send it off...

It was on the carpet at one point, but not when I got the RRoD.  weird thing is, I've been playing GHIII for about 2 hours, and have had no other problems with it.

No, the RRoD went away.  I also watched some EscaFlowne and played some Doom.

You know about the warm towel trick, right?  I don't know the details, but you can get a few dozen hours extra out of your 360 if you wrap it in warm towels and leave it on until it overheats and resets some internal temperature thinger.  You can do it each time you get the red ring, but the benefit will wear out sooner each time.  Something like that.  I'm sure you can google it for all the juicy details.

I was asking where was it when it rrod on you. Because I ehard that most people that had the 360 rrod on them, had it in a spot that doens't have alot of air circulation.

No one dared to
Speak of the terrible danger
The hideous ancient warnings
Forged in the void of night

He is risen up
Out of the blackness
Chaos
The last of the prophets
Sinister
A sickening monstrous sight

Your x-box has been born again. Kill it!

Nowadays you are either a graphics whore or a fanboy. BR is Shank not CV. It is ridiculous to think that it is better than CV. If it was CV then it would be what RE4 is to Resi, a series killer. Dumb it down and make it look pretty. Enough idiots will buy it.

you may not have gotten THE red rings.  The 360 uses the lights as a way of telling you what the problem is by lighting up different combinations of lights. All four lit up is different then all but the top left and so on.

I got the same problem the other day. My brother got a 360 for his birthday and a memory card so he could transfer his data from my 360 (which he's been using a LOT) to his own.

When I got mine back, I turned it on and got the three flashing red lights in the top left, bottom left, and bottom right rings. I planned on using my Gamestop warranty and getting a new system anyway (I have a pre-Falcon and HDMI system and I want current, dammit!) so I told my boss to put my name on a Pro system next shipment.

Meanwhile, I unplugged everything, took out the harddrive, turned it back on, and it worked. Then I turned it off, unplugged it, put the harddrive back in, turned it on, and it worked again.

Still planning on attacking the next shipment of 360s, though.

All the lights were lit but the top right one.  As far as I know, that is the tell-tale sign of a dead system.

Yeah it is, but it's technically defined as a "Hardware failure" which can include the harddrive, system, or power supply. Unplugging these three and plugging the system in with or without the harddrive or with a different power supply can diagnose the problem.

I think with mine my power supply was just loose or something.

Yeah I got the RRoD a few weeks ago. I downloaded the new H3 maps and it red ringed on me. I messed with it for a while and got it to work. I played quite awhile enjoying the new maps while I could because I feared it was finished.

Sure enough when I went to turn it on the next day it red ringed so I just sent it in. According the FedEX I should get it back by tomorrow or Saturday. ;D

That's good to know, I'll give one of those options a shot if the red ring ever pops up on mine.
