I got the RRoD when the component cable was unplugged and I plugged them back in.
Since I discovered that I should go use it to trick my bro into thinking that his own xbox360 has the RRoD.

If you do that you get 4 red lights. Which just means your cables arent properly connected.

3 is the RRoD. It means Hardware failure.
2 means over heating.
1 means some special kind of hardware failure I believe.

Yeah I got the RRoD a few weeks ago. I downloaded the new H3 maps and it red ringed on me. I messed with it for a while and got it to work. I played quite awhile enjoying the new maps while I could because I feared it was finished.

Sure enough when I went to turn it on the next day it red ringed so I just sent it in. According the FedEX I should get it back by tomorrow or Saturday. ;D

FedEx is good. They predict Friday and its still not here on Saturday. >:(
To add to my problems, I told a friend of mine that I hadnt seen it forever about my 360 so he told me to take his because he never uses it.
So I take it and buy CoD4 and play and it wont load after a certain level in Campaign or certain multiplayer maps. I eject the disc and see its scratched quite a bit. I tell my friend and he says "Yeah it does that."

Seems like an important piece of information to not tell me. I mean I appreciate him letting me use it but I would have said no thanks if Id know it was going to ruin my games.

Im holding on to a little bit of hope that the game will still play properly on a "good" 360. Ill find out tomorrow when another of my friends said they would bring theres over to see if my game will work. Heres hoping it does.

I was going to buy a 360 for my birthday, but then I heard about the 60% or so failure rate with them, so I bought a nice new PS3 instead. *Pets his nice slick, black*

There is no excuse for the Red Ring shit after the system has been out, what? Like 2 years now? Come on.

I believe microsoft has done away with the red ring on the newer 360's, and I think they're supposed to be more reliable than the previous models. I've had mine for awhile and haven't had any probs. yet, but I also don't really play it a whole lot or leave it on all night or anything. I've really only been playing rock band on it recently. I'll probably get some games from the live store soon cuz I'm tired of all the fps's at the moment.

My first one did get played a ton, but this newest one I only had for 3 freaking days. Plus I got a new job recently that has had me pretty tired so I never played it very long. I had planned on playing it this weekend, but that obviously aint gonna happen.

Every system made after September has the Falcon Chip in it, which has lowered the failure rate of systems significantly to around 5-10%.

Not to say the PS3 is a poor financial decision, just that you're misinformed. Used systems are a no-go for 360's since you never know when they've been made, but I've seen very few red ring returns ever since the falcon chip's been out.

Most everyone I know with an Xbox 360 has had a problem with it in some way. Microsoft shouldn't need a "Falcon" Chip to resolve the Red Ring issue. Piece of shit Box.

All the same, they messed up with windows Vista too, so I shoudn't be so surprised. In case you can't tell, I aboslutely hate Microsoft. They are a bunch of crooks.

While I don't like Microsoft the company all too much, I can say wholeheartedly that, with the current selection of games available between the Xbox 360 and PS3, I would much rather have the former than the latter.  The only two exclusive Ps3 titles I truly care about are Uncharted and MGS4, and quite frankly, unless more (great) exclusives come out for Ps3, I will not be buying it.
Besides, Mass Effect should keep me busy until DMC4 and SSB:B.

The game selections are the same, other than the minimal amount of exclusives of course. Like you mentioned.

I think the PS3 is a superior piece of Hardware, though. Just my opinion. At least it has wireless online capabilities built in it, unlike the Xbox360 where you have to buy a $100 wireless adaptor.

LOL, for the amount of money it costs to buy a piece-of-shit-3, I could get a PC that at least twice as powerful.

And PS3 game library is not even close to the 360's atm.

Your obviously just in this topic to troll.

Rugal:
I don't know, maybe its just the fact that I already own a 360 that the Ps3 doesn't look all that appealing to me.  Hell, I've had 360 before the PS3 was even released (for $599 US), and being that they mostly have the same games, I don't see why I should want one.  Maybe if I wanted a Blu-Ray player, I'd buy one, but at the moment, there is not much else that appeals to me.  For me, the wireless doesn't mean too much, but only because my dorm doesn't get wireless.

Knightmare: Rugal made a valid point, so I don't see any "obvious" indication that he is trolling.  And yes, many, if not, the majority of the 360 third-party library is available on Ps3, at least those released during the PS3's lifespan.

Whatever, I made a topic awhile back when halo 3 was released, and all he did was post the same anti MS bullshit.
