Since it seems this is the place to put these sorts of things now, thought i'd mention this little gem I found for android phones.

Castle of Shadows - FREE Hack & Slash Adventure for Android

It plays pretty similarly to metroidvanias like Aria of Sorrow, where you have different weapons and special magic abilities.

Level layout is more on the linear side, and the translation is not so great, but it's a pretty fun time waster while you're on a bus or something, and considering it's practically a full game for FREE, (with the option to buy power) Id say it's worth the investment of your phone's memory space.

In this game however, you dont get weapons from enemies in stages though, instead they take a route I think is probably better, which is from bosses. SO it allows for some more uniqueness in weapons, and they definitely look cool and play cool.

They've made several CV rip off cellphone games for a while now. This one isn't all that new, but just as bad. They rip off many other game's sprites all the time.

Eegh! They really pile those monsters in there, don't they? All those congested walkways don't look that appealing.

It looks very congested to me. And the game seems to be based on arena-type stage combat. I'd say this title would be good for a mindless bet'em-up but as for feeling like Castlevania...I must respectfully disagree.

Oh yeah, I've had this for my android phone for a while. It serves it's purpose as a quick time waster and has a lot of button mashy hack n' slash goodness. The 2D sprites and overall aesthetic style is somewhat reminiscent of the GBA and DS Castlevania's in some ways. Not the best portable phone game but can be pretty fun in short intervals. I notice for me (could just be my phone in general) that occasionally there's slowdown when there's so many enemies on the screen.

It's more the overall aesthetic and sprite style that reminds me of the DS/GBA Castlevanias. The music a little too perhaps. And the generic theme of "hero protagonist vs a demon castle". The gameplay itself is not quite Castlevania, just a hack'n'slash room by room thing.

Now, the Character design itself reminds me more of like, Jojo from Jojo's Bizzare Adventure. I mean, I definitely dig Montano's character design.

I have it on my Kindle Fire. The data install is INSANE. The download isn't bad, but it's basically an installer package, and on my Kindle Fire, it takes up most of my available storage. While mindless fun and a decent meeting of Devil May Cry and Dynasty Warriors with a Castlevania paint job, I can't recommend it unless you've got some extra space to store this.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

I downloaded it a few days ago. I don't play it much, maybe 15-20 minutes every time, since the game consist in entering every room and destroy all the enemies, I don't think I could play it more time without getting bored. I'm not a native english speaker but it seemed to me the translation could use a revision. The art is very nice, Montano looks cool. The music is nice too.
The game works smoothly on my tablet,  it doesn't slowdown and it's very light compared to other games. Only 9mb, I've downloaded much bigger games in minutes, and my Internet connection is not fast.

Yeah, man, that was freakin' awesome. The only thing in that whole thing that captivated me was the art they showed at the end.
