Zone of Enders, Solar Boy Django, Snatcher, all great games from Kojima without the forced reminder of MGS.
I think if that team up were to happen, they should collaberate to do things they weren't able to do by themselves.
For the team up, I imagine that H.Kojima and IGA would primarily work on story. IGA has the most steeped knowledge of the underpinings of the CV universe and has created stories most of us enjoy. His games get a little cyclical and I think this is where H.Kojima comes in to help push the narrative beyond IGA traditional style. At the same time, IGA helps keep H.Kojima in check and lore friendly.
They both also have great sense in gameplay and how to make games fun, as does Platinum games. I think they bring a lot to the table and could work together to make something truly memorable, IGA with great castle layouts, quest progressions, Platinum with fun combat and H.Kojima to sprinkle a little insanity here and there or bring up interesting new mechanics (Ala Raiden's "CHOP ALL THE THINGS" mechanic) for the whips and other combat related goodies.
Yamane and A.Kojima are there for artistic direction and music direction, respectively. Their work is generally respected in the community and I think would help the title feel more CV-like.
Will it happen? Probably not, will egos get bruised and no work get done? Probably, if it were to happen. But a fan can fantasize...right?
Are you saying that The Demon Castle Wars could allow players to create their own character, while Julius and others are NPCs? If so, that could also allow for [optional] cooperative multiplayer on top of a choice-driven solo campaign.
You know, I didn't think about the self created characters (though Julius and crew as NPCs were a given...I think?), and thus adding in an optional cooperative MP mode sounds pretty sweet! Yeah, I'd totally buy that game.
