Idea for a remake.

This probably wouldn't make any sense, but I got this idea in my mind where the original Castlevania and Castlevania Chronicles are combined into one game and given a graphical update in the same vain as the Dracula X Chronicles. Both games have basically the same first and last stage, so maybe they could implement a branching path system in the game where one path leads to the stages of the original Castlevania and the other to the stages of Chronicles. They could also add a completely new path for the sake of some original content. Other stuff they could do is add stuff to collect like in Rondo, give Dracula a third form, and add little cut scenes where appropriate. Maybe it's a terrible idea but I think it has potential.

I think instead of Chronicles if they remake the first CV take stuff from Super Castlevania IV, it's the superior game. But if they ever do remake it, I would like to see it just the first game with graphical updates, maybe a few new levels and then go right into Simons Quest, and have it as one long game.

Re than that though I just want a Dracula's Curse remake!
What a horrible night to have a curse!

yknow, given los dev history, im curious how ms and cox would have made the originally proposed idea of a cv1 remake instead of an original story and setting. the prototype definitely captured some strong gothic vibes, as did the final land of vampires (the abbey and castle particularly, with a little bit of crow's pass)
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

Pretty much all the stages of the original CV minus a couple of them made it into Chronicles. I think that super CV 4 is the better choice since all of it's stages are original in their content. In other words there's far more to work with.

I believe stage 1 and for the most part stage 6 made it into Chronicles. A broad strokes version of stage 5, too. The reason I chose Chronicles was because that's the only game that is more or less compatible with CV1. You can't really combine 1 with SCIV because for example the lay-out of the castle is too different, You could still make it work with CV1 and Chronicles by implementing a branching path system. To be clear, I'm not proposing another "reimaging" but a faithful remake that simply combines two games into one with maybe a few neccessary tweaks here and there.

Don't forget the 'Red-bricked cathedral' featuring the boss Medusa. That stage was in both the original CV and CV Chronicles.

They should instead do a CV Simon's Chronicles, with CV1, SCV4 and CV Chronicles and a 2.5 mode with some mixed ideas like Nagumo said. Then when you finish one of them you unlock CV2 plus the outfit of the game that you have beaten for sake of continuity and eye candy. Haunted Castle should be a secret game like they did with classic Rondo and SOTN in DXC.

I had an idea similar a while back. Mine was a basic merger of all CV1-type games(CV1, Haunted Castle, Chronicles, SCV4) and try to make a definitive "Simon Belmont" Castlevania game that has parts from all the games. Also, pump up the stage count to near CV3 numbers. 21 Stages(including alternate stages you discover by finding different paths, the 21st stage being the Castle Keep, the short walk through the entrance quarters, up the iconic staircase to Dracula's lair), 21 different boss battles(some compose of multiple enemies, like the twin mummies, Frankenstein & Igor and Slogra and Gaibon, or multiple forms, like Dracula).

My idea was that it would start in town(cutscene of the Spring celebration hinted at in the manual), then Dracula's resurrected and sends his hoards to kill the townspeople. First stage, Simon enters as people flee past him and jumps into the fray. Second stage would be the Abandoned Abbey where they resurrected Dracula(in the Chronicles cutscene). Then, you venture via SCV4 route on your way to Castlevania(the actual castle entrance halls being, perhaps, the 5th stage) and the games start to merge closer.

We all want reimaginings of the Simon starred vanias. It would totally be awesome!
However developers seem obsessed with CV3.

not so obsessed. Remember Curse of Darkness ? the original plan for it according to a Long ago disappeared japanese game magazine was to make a remake of CV 3 Draculas Curse. i don´t know why they have changed their mind´s , created Hector and
recycled the Trevor Belmont textures. :-\

I think Nagumo's idea is fantastic, and they can also merge SCV4 into that, with various paths and ways to choose, leading us to the stages of each game, graphically updated and all within the same look.
They can also add a % counter, so we have to complete all levels, and some unlockables we have to find, and a couple of new levels with new soundtrack.
All that, would be awesome!

PS: I'm interested in seeing the prototype for the CV1 remake someone mentioned, is there a link to a video or something?
Now I'm tired, eternally walking... forever dying, and never stopping. I feel in sorrow, all I see is white. I’m following a blind way beneath a sad sky.

Its a CV2 remake and his already complete (with some minor bugs that will not be polished if I understood right). I dont remember where I can find it, but I know that only the mention of this will summon a user that loves to post it again and again when needed xD

Well someone beat me to it.
Yeah just fuse all of simon adventures into one that would be sick with it.  :)

First Sorry for BAD ENGLISH!!! :D
The idea combining castlevania games to one was also my thaugt.

Creating a remake mixed castlevania(nes) and castlevania2 simon's quest together to a hole game.

I mean: graphics from SCV 4 and castlevania arrangements with super castlevania style from all games of the series.

At the time I'm creating castlevania arrangements with super castlevania soundfont.
