...... None of those games are Nintendo's properties nor were they ever Sony's. They are third party. They can't just go after a game that was on their platform, not in the sense that it's their copyright, because they would have no case. All the ones you mentioned, afaik, are third party.

Nintendo's intellectual property are Mario, Zelda, Metroid (I think), Donkey Kong, etc. Probably more, or even a great deal more, but I don't play a lot of Nintendo's games.

Being on a platform doesn't make it theirs... if that was the case, Microsoft has got a HUGE list, given how many games were made for Windows.

My little and nonsensical  :P opinion on this topic is that, most of the times, videos where the player talks are extremely annoying. When I want to check a game, i jsut want to see the game, full with its music and everything, and I'm not interested in some random person talking, I just don't care what he's got to say.
Every time I want to see gameplay on YT it takes me a lot to find a video where no one talks, and many times there aren't.
I really don't care about this. But Nintendo is being greedy, anyway. As much as I like Nintendo, is David vs. Goliath.
Now I'm tired, eternally walking... forever dying, and never stopping. I feel in sorrow, all I see is white. I’m following a blind way beneath a sad sky.

Well if that's the criterion -- that it's strictly Nintendo's property -- then what's the big deal? They don't have that many games. Pokemon. mario. Zelda. Metroid. The "Wars" series. Pikmin. Donkey Kong (I think). Some others. Possibly the second party rights. Not a whole lot of games and most of them are pretty obviously Nintendo's.

Although the biggest complaint I think isn't really against Nintendo, it's against YouTube: If Nintendo slaps an ad on a third-party's game footage, it's near impossible to contest it with YouTube staff.

It's more about the principle.

So apparently they might be changing their mind on this one.

It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

Very good. I hope everyone takes notice that the ones that wear the pants in the gaming industry is the consumer. We are the ones that make or break the corporations. I only wish more of us would realize this truth in other contexts especially when it comes to government, but that's another discussion.
