Somehow I don't imagine Dracula, the guy with the regalness about him, having kids with anyone other than another Vampire or a Human woman that warms his heart.

You know what? I've always wondered if Alucard had any siblings. Considering the near 400 year gap between LoI and CV3, it's entirely possible that Dracula could have knocked up women (human or otherwise). Vampire or not, he is still a man and all men (and women) have certain animal instincts if you know what I mean. He may of loved Llsa, but that doesn't mean he didn't have any lust fueled one night stands with women (some possibly demons).

If you want to go at it from a historical standpoint, the REAL Vlad had three children with two women, the first of which was Mihnea el Rău (literally the Wrongdoer/Mean/Evil) who was assassinated.  Vlad's first wife (Mihnea's mother) killed herself, btw. Plot bunny, much? XD

His other two children were with his second wife, who was a relative of the King of Hungary, Matthias Corvinus. His second son was named after him (Vlad).  And his third son's name has been lost; this one supposedly died young of illness.

Oh, he definitely spends some time with his harem. Alucard even refers to Carmilla as "Dracula's plaything".

Not implied directly but Rinaldo did state that there was something about Leon that made the whip much more powerful then even Rinaldo himself could.

I forgot that tidbit. Now Rinald's line makes more sense. I never thought of it like that.

Well, actually, for Leon, the whip was the same as Rinaldo. Defeating monsters was all fine, but when he tried to hit Walter, it still did nothing.

Rinaldo even says it, that he hoped it might work for Leon, but that apparently it didn't. Only once it became Vampire Killer did it gain the power to kill Walter.

Don't tell me you forgot what Medusa had said to Leon after her defeat:

Leon: It's Rinaldo's whip. Apparently it's effective even on legendary monsters.

Medusa: But it wasn't so powerful before. Did it gain it's complete form?

Leon: Complete form..?

Then we have this tid-bit of Rinaldo's conversation:

Rinaldo: It's true that the whip is not yet complete.

Leon: But it has become more powerful then before.

Rinaldo: That...is because of you.

It's true that the whip could not harm Walter until it was complete, however Leon's mystical Belmont blood increased the whip's power and potential beyond what Rinaldo could have ever been capable of.

This is strange.

It's almost as if it's begging for a prequel even to this game.

Prequel to a prequel

that's deep.

It's also very risky. Look how messed up the Zelda series is because the creator continued to make prequels of prequels rather then producing sequels, which is what the series should have been getting in the first place. If someone's going to make a prequel of a prequel then they really need to sit down and do their homework ie. pay attention to the continuity of the story that has already been established. And let's face it, many directors and creators can't even do this or don't want to. Take the series Enterprise as an example. It's a century before the classic Star Trek but it goes it's own way; throwing the already cemented continuity right out the window in terms of ship designs, story arcs, technology, selected musical scores etc. Even things that were historically established in ToS's bible was completely ignored in favor of other things that Rick Berman thought would make for a better Trek. He failed. Although in terms of the LoI back-story about Rinaldo's life before he came to dwell in the forest, it should be fairly easy to to make a prequel starring him in his quest to kill Walter and avenge his family. It could work so long as the continuity is not violated, but then again that's already been done.

If there's one thing Castlevania needs less of it's origins.

Let's see what happens next rather than seeing another tale about how the very first Belmont fought the very first Dracula with the very first whip.

I wouldn't mind them telling Rinaldo's story. But it would be better suited for a comic. Or an animated movie.

Or just do a bunch of animated shorts about Castlevania and include Rinaldo's revenge among them. There's lots of thing they could do with that idea: Lisa's execution, a Belmont's life coming to an end (like Simon, as an old man, telling the story of his quest to a young Juste) etc.

I believe tidbits of Rinaldo's life were chronicled in the LoI prequel comic, which was made for cell-phones only in Japan way back in 2003. Apparently it contained a lot of backstory details about the characters of Lament. However, this has yet to surface online.. *looks at Nagumo*

Let's see what happens next rather than seeing another tale about how the very first Belmont fought the very first Dracula with the very first whip.

So you talkin a futuristic castlevania game set after Dawn of Sorrow?

Because if you want to see the next step in the series as far as story progression goes than that would have to be the route.

Saying that, I must admit I would be totally interested in seeing that, should it be done right of course.

But otherwise (considering they go back to the old canon) they will simply have to make games between the very little gaps in the CV timeline, one of the longest being the 300 year gap between LOI and CV3.

Or of course the long awaited 1999 game.

Well Dracula has good taste in women  ;)

But back to Julius I say yes. I could  not even imagine the stress he had in his prime and the war so he had a special someone and had a  pre-climax-climax   before the final battle  http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PreClimaxClimax

Well, I tried.  :( It's no longer available actually. So, I think the only thing we can do is to request Konami to release the manga in printed format.
