http://www.konami.jp/573ch/

It's in Japanese but you guys might want to check it out.

The first broadcast was about how the program works. You might like to listen to the retro game tunes for the first part of the program, then the last part showcased the goods that are displayed around the shop.

2nd broadcast talks about Silent Hill.
The only interesting thing for me was the Silent Hill Revelation Real at the Toshimaen theme park.

The upcoming 3rd broadcast will talk about retro games. (July 22, 930 pm, Japan time)

I'm waiting for their Castlevania feature.... they should do that. After all, in the middle of the first broadcast, the MC said that Akumajou series is getting popular (something kinda like that). :D

Sounds like fun. You better not be lying about that Castlevania feature.  >:(

But in all seriousness, if Castlevania is getting popular, that's great news. Are you sure he was talking about the present?  :P

The Castlevania feature. I am just hoping but since its Konami and LoS2's release will be this year, they might give CV a feature.

There is a bigger possibility for CV to get featured on the 3rd ep which is for retro games.

The mc was talking to a person on the phone and it was mentioned that people want to play CV now and there is a fan following for CV. That was what I got from listening to the first episode (it was somewhere in the middle of the broadcast). Please listen to it and check if my hearing is correct.

Just watched the whole thing. They talked about Castlevania a lot. Lots of music from CV3. They also showed some fanart.  :P

I wish I knew what they were saying. Any interesting tidbits?

Will they use the popularity they talk about to present Castlevania in its true form to the rest of the world?
Or will just stick to whatever made it "popular"? (according to them, that might be the LoS formula).

So many doubts about the future of CV...

Probably bad news for you...

But fear not, they might make a big epic 3D LoS-ish game with yamane music and Ayami's art, in the right hands that would be marvellous

Everything comes full circle

I can do without the art, even. Art is what MS did best, of all things.
If to change anything else besides the music I'd rather have the C64 gameplay instead of LoS's one.
Just give me the music, I don't care if it's Michiru Yamane or anyone who follows the lines of anything from 1986-2008.

They should do something like a new Haunted Castle (I had this idea thanks to Dracula9's fangame, good to see you back old friend) if they want a new "reboot". Even the trailer says that LoS2 is the end of the trilogy and that its the end of LoS lol

I only want to see something like the old games or something new that doesnt follow LoS gameplay. Candles, hidden food/items and hearts are a must have, please.

All that, and the look and music we've used to have.

Episode 3 is so awesome!!! All the retro memories! The lovely dot-art...
Twinbee, Gradius, Goemon, Antarctic Adventure, Yie ar kung fu (yes Haruna-chan I also hate the difficulty of that game)...

Castlevania 1 features prominently in the comments of the mc and guests.
The music and the difficulty. Haruna even brought some of her collection on the show. She owns a retro game museum.
Haruna-chan says that the CV music is a booster that allows her to go 120%.
And the special illustrations of the 2 guests (Simon throwing the holy water at Drac), it's so funny!

(whoohoo~! I was right that castlevania will be part of this episode!)

There were some Konami inside jokes that I did not get on the part of put something on the speech balloon of the seal on Antarctic Adventure.

Since this episode went way over time, they will be featuring retro games again for the next episode which will be broadcast on August 5, 930 pm (Japan time).

I just hope Konami listens to the first wish of Haruna-chan, "Create retro games again".

@Pfil: If I am not mistaken, people are beginning to search for the original CV after playing LoS. (I have to rewatch episode 1, if I have the time, just to be sure)

Oh! 1000th post!  8)

Congratulations! Welcome to the club!  :)

What would that mean for Konami?
Are we getting a simple CV 1 remake after LoS?
There are plenty of other good options to be remade, and besides, what we need is a full new game.

Also, if playing LoS made people want to go for the original, that could mean Konami reading that LoS is in the spirit of the original, hence telling the new developers to follow the LoS formula.
That would also mean the definitive death of MetroidVania games or any kind of RPG-based Vanias.
This is bad news.

But... if this means that LoS sucked for people, so they are going for the original, that could be great news.

I have so many doubts right now and I'm so anxious that I'm going to have a CV breakdown until I learn about the future!

Beep! Wrong! If it was like that then all games would be remakes from CV1, everyone that plays a new franchise and likes it should have the urge to see how it all began. So this means that people are seeking the series roots and maybe this means that they should do a new game more close to the classic mechanics.

Also, if playing LoS made people want to go for the original, that could mean Konami reading that LoS is in the spirit of the original, hence telling the new developers to follow the LoS formula.

This is bad news.

Almost the same response from above, but about the metroidvania part I find it difficult to they discard this type of game, even MoF tried in some strange and deranged way to keep it in some form and Konami isnt blind, they only need to see the game market to discover that metroidvania games are sucessful, even indie-games are using this mechaninc and having sucess.

But... if this means that LoS sucked for people, so they are going for the original, that could be great news.

For me, LoS sucked in many ways, thats my opinion, but I think they are checking the old games only to know the roots of the series.

I have so many doubts right now and I'm so anxious that I'm going to have a CV breakdown until I learn about the future!

The future will most certainly be good, I can assure that because of this:

I like your hope Lely, and it brings me sunshine in this cloudy present full of questions.
So thanks for your kind words.
But I'm so terribly afraid that Konami, wanting the $$$ and caring only for the $$$ will tell the new developers to follow the LoS formula.
And I'm also so terribly afraid that we have more 3D button mashers with Hollywood generic music and 2.5D messes with more Hollywood generic sound.
I will be positive and happy the day I learn about a new game announced that satisfies my needs as a CV life long fan. No, wait, the day it is officially released and I can go and buy it... I was already happy once with the Alucard game Iga was doing, and that lead to nothing because the idiots at Konami cancelled it.
They will be some long, long months (I hope not years) until I'm released from this anxiety about CV.
I am waiting since the first LoS, and especially since when I knew it was a trilogy and then the end, for the day that MS finally step aside to never return and learn about the next game.
Now that I see it so close I just can't help it, I'm pretty much all day thinking about it, at work, when I study... all the time.
Now I'm tired, eternally walking... forever dying, and never stopping. I feel in sorrow, all I see is white. I’m following a blind way beneath a sad sky.

I can assure you, the next Castlevania game after LoS2 (excluding DLCs and Mega-Ultra-Pimper-Editions) will not be made by MercurySteam and will be like the old ones before MercurySteam reign.
