Wanna surprise me in any way with remixes? Then go for the rarer gems like Battle of the Holy Man or New Messiah. And on a side note - and you can throw eggs at me for saying this - but I think the Legends versions of Vampire Killer and particularly Bloody Tears  are totally shiny. Too bad Bloody Tears is so damn short.
Exactly. That's what I'm saying, and that's why I mentioned that, if they really want to make an homage to CV fans, why don't they go for rare tracks like some tracks from the GB games.

If you put your music is bad, if you put classical music is bad. Good luck to the next development team take CV ..

Sometimes I have the impression that the community of CV fans are like some older women in the salon reading magazines.
It's not that difficult. Make new music that sound like Castlevania. It can't get more simple than that.

If it's Wayforward, then the series is in good hands.

Sorry that we as Castlevania fans have been gratiously spoiled over the past decades and have a high standard for excellent and catchy music in our games, a standard that LoS didn't meet for A LOT of us.
Amen to that.
I've been saying this since I played the game, but Jake Kaufman is the one if CV doesn't go back to Konami Japan.

Wayforward makes the best looking bad games.
With all respect, if Bloodrayne: Betrayal is a bad game I can't imagine what Mirror of Fate is.
Now I'm tired, eternally walking... forever dying, and never stopping. I feel in sorrow, all I see is white. I’m following a blind way beneath a sad sky.

Not bad exactly, just dull after first clear. In MoF's defense, it has 3 characters and more platforming. Aside from that it boils down to personal experiences.

And what exactly is wrong with music box Vampire Killer? :<
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

There is nothing wrong with that.
After all, this boils down to individual preferences, so what is good for one might not be good to another.

There's nothing wrong with the VK music box, per se. I think it just gets unwarranted attention for such a small gesture. I'd understand the reaction if it was a different game series. It's just my opinion, but we really shouldn't have to feel so excited a game with "Castlevania" in the title has Vampire Killer playing. I think that actually emphasizes how far away LoS was from Castlevania.

Shitty platforming, though.

it has 3 characters... that are more like model-swaps. Its like if we try to defend Bomberman saying that we can choose different characters when in reality they are all pallete-swaps. In my opinion we have been teased with these information of 3 playable characters and Sypha making a appearance only to be disappointed in the end when played the game.

Sure, MoF have some pros in other aspects, but I dont find this to be one of them.

Nothing's wrong with Music Box Vampire Killer itself, but if Vampire Killer reduced to a tiny little theme in a box is the most Castlevania-like music experience I can remember from a game, that's enough proof of how very little Castlevania-like LoS was.

In MoF's defense, I can state that it was a step in the right direction in terms of how Castlevania the game felt. Sadly, where the look was improved, the music wasn't.

- Lords of Shadow doesn't include a classic song: Not Castlevania enough
- Lords of Shadow includes a classic song: Not Castlevania enough
Don't blame it on us, blame it on Araujo and no one else. If he had tried at least to sound like Castlevania, none of these complains would exist. If he had tried to do what Kaufman did (but with orchestral arrangements to suit the game, if you want), no one would be complaining also.
Want to make a new song that is Castlevania enough? Take inspiration from any game from 1986-2008.
Want to make a remix that is Castlevania enough? Just do that song, and if possible choose something that will truly amaze us life long fans, not just one theme we've had remixed dozens of times. Go for one rare song that only true fans know.

I don't think he missed the point, per se. I agree with him completely and I understand exactly what the point of it is. It's really just that after all this time, the STILL ongoing complaints against Lords are getting really repetitive and looking more and more shallow that they're not changing any. Heaven forbid someone says they like it or ask why it's disliked and those against it say they're tired of hearing that and having to explain why (even though they'll say the same things with little to no originality). Just saying, again, it's really starting to get old. Can't we knock this shit off and, you know, start looking forward to future installments? This is a thread about Lords' fucking sequel for crying out loud, and the debate as to why Lords 1 sucked/didn't suck is still ongoing. A wee bit counterproductive, doncha think?

Another note:

This is a terrible attitude to have. It's almost like you're blaming the franchise for how you act.

Anyway, I'm quite fond of the Music Box Vampire Killer. I would have liked to have heard Legends' version, personally, but it's nice as-is in my book.

I don't think that wanting the best music is the world, as Crisis post kind of states, is a bad attitude, given that Castlevania filled that role for almost 25 years.

Oops, my mistake. I wasn't referring to the desire for more classic music, I was referring to the attitude of "well, SOR-RY we've been spoiled for two decades" being a bad one. Seems almost like an "it's not OUR fault we're like this" excuse to me. I'll fix that now.

Well, but it isnt our fault, changes dont are welcome sometimes for some people, now imagine drastic changes.

This is a thread about Lords' fucking sequel for crying out loud, and the debate as to why Lords 1 sucked/didn't suck is still ongoing. A wee bit counterproductive, doncha think?

Its difficult to talk about productivity when we in reality cant do much until more news come out and we have more things to talk about.

I guess my issue with music box vampire killer is that it was novelty like Grant's cameo in scroll in MOF, cute but not benefiting something that great. When you hear vampire killer theme you are supposed to be pumped and this is coming from someone who actually enjoys music of the Lord of Shadow series. So I feel like the classical music needs to serve of purpose more then just be scraps of fan service. And I think composer could do it some of the classical themes justice if he wanted too.
