Would've loved to have a CV on the Vita. Such an awesome, overlooked handheld.

Considering how fun it was to play Guacamelee on the Vita, a new Metroidvania would've been incredible.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

It's not like any of the hero phones that run 3 or more gigs of RAM and a Helios X10/Snapdragon 810/Exynos/Kirin CPU with killer graphics get anything better from Konami -- this despite their claims of moving towards a "mobile first" strategy "because that's where the money is".
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Konami's been listening to Wu-Tang clan a bit too much.

I would argue that a 2D game is probably a whole lot cheaper than producing one of those large scale 3D ones with a huge dev staff. Much more to gain by staying traditional since it's less of an investment cost. Bloodstained ain't exactly doing bad, either, if one needed proof.

Fuck 3D.

Vita should have been the platform we got a beautiful hand drawn 2d Vania on.
But it likely would have been on vita/PS3/ps4 with cross buy and cross save functionality. Which would have been even better.

And that would have been the ultimate CV of my dreams.

But instead we got mirror of fate... ????????

That's what I'm talking about.
Companies are only "losing" to projected profit margins. At the end of the day if it costs a company 3 million to make a game (make as in concept, development, employ staff, hire an office, produce the physical copies etc) which has been backed for 10 million, they made 7 million in 2 years.

I don't remember any large companies recently saying they've made heaps of profit off of anything, even say a company who makes popular franchise games. They always say sales are up/ down but the company is still struggling to make ends meet or took a hit etc. They're all full of shit imo. People are just hoping the good times will last forever.

For example Nintendo with the Wii U which has apparently bombed, say on average a Wii U costs what 300 USD? And say it costs them (at a worst case scenario) 100 USD to get them onto shelves by the time everything (factory, fabrication, printing, boxing and transport) is considered. They've still sold 10 million units, which multiplied by 200 USD is still 2 billion dollars which is a lot of fucking money... Not to mention that games cost a lot, Amiibo's are a fucking rip off but people still buy them, gamepad and controllers cost A LOT. I have no sympathy for companies of this magnitude who claim to be losing money.
