Robert Belgrade returning as Alucard

Hello everyone!

Nagumo suggested to me that it was a good idea to repost this news in the general discussion section so everyone has a chance to read about it.

The news is that Robert Belgrade has recorded all new voice overs to reprise his iconic role of Alucard for the game Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2!

For those who may not know, Robert is the voice of Alucard in Symphony of the Night. He will also be appearing as a new character in Iga's Bloodstained.

Robert has really done a great service to us all as fans and we couldn't be happier to have him on board.

The game is created by Mig Perez and I am the composer. Please check out our thread in the fan section for more info.

It is all but unheard of for a voice actor from an official release to do work for a fan made project. But he was very impressed with the game and wanted to give something back to the fans!

He is a great guy and was wonderful to work with!

So there it is! Please help us spread the word about Alucards return in Lecarde Chronicles 2!

????

Nolan North and Laura Bailey have both done similar stuff, but earlier in their careers when they weren't worth top dollar.

But this is awesome news!

I'd be kind of disappointed if his delivery wasn't Shatnerized by the game itself though. Ah, memories.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

This will be interesting to hear Alucard's original voice actor reprise his role in LC2. And Bloodstained for that matter  :)

For obvious reasons he will not be appearing as Alucard in Bloodstained though. It's still cool to have him on board.

Correct. His return as Alucard is in Lecarde Chronicles 2 only!

All I can really tell you guys about it at this point was that he did an awesome job and sounded spot on as you remember him in SOTN. It gave me warm fuzzies of nostalgia hearing that voice again! It was also clear that he had a lot of fun doing it, and he left us with more than we needed for the game.

The thing to do now is to spread the word about this cool service he has done for the fans!

I messaged Cecil of Operation Akumajo and asked if he would be willing to make a post about the Belgrade news on the facebook page, but he said it is for Bloodstained related news only.

You would think that a voice actor who is in Bloodstained reprising his starring role of Alucard from SOTN would be Bloodstained related news as well as Castlevania related news. But unfortunately he didn't seem to see it that way. I have to disagree with him and think that all CV SOTN fans deserve to know about this...

Many thanks again to Nagumo for letting me post it in this section of the Dungeon.

Cecil has a history with the Dungeon. Let him be.
The CVDungeon is the only active Castlevania forum and fans would know to go here for info.

That's cool. Should drum up more interest for the game, I'd imagine. I'm certainly more interested in playing it knowing he's on board!

Well obviously since Alucard is in CV and Bloodstained is an entirely different continuity. But I doubt you'd be able to listen to the guy speak and not invision Alucard as well.

True. Even when he is just speaking normally, I always see Alucard. XD

Could you imagine if Robert Belgrade were to also reprise his voice as Alucard in Adi Shankar's Castlevania III animated feature thingy? He was saying that adaptation was going to be a hard-hitting violent anime and he already officially acquired the rights/permission from Konami... The independent animation studio Frederator ("Adventure Time," "The Fairly OddParents") is involved in the production. Overall, it'd be neat if everything came together...

As long as they stick to the CV III story and don't involve that love triangle BS between Grant, Trevor, and Sypha then I've no complaints.

Robert Belgrade voicing Alucard in this fan game(?) is awesome. Seems like he's been out of the video game scene since the late 90's, so it's great to hear that he's reprising his infamous role in addition to his work in Bloodstained.

It'd be equally awesome if the people behind the Lecarde Chronicles could get Michael G (Richter's VA) to do something as well, though I'm sure that's more of a longshot.

It's probably even harder since nobody actually knows who Michael G. is, at all.

For the record, it is worth mentioning that none of the actors were listed for what role they played in SotN (just a list of names in the credits), but it's more likely that Scott McCulloch was actually the voice of Richter, due to said actor voicing Chris Redfield in the first Resident Evil and in Castlevania 64, and his voice sounding exactly like Richter's. Michael G. is likely the one who did Dracula's voice in SotN. Though it's also worth mentioning Michael was the voice of Harry Mason in Silent Hill, and he has a similar voice to Richter, also.

BTVA has Michael G. listed as Drac, though, and they, from what I know, don't list roles for actors unless it was confirmed in some way.

Glad to hear it, and I'm getting more interest in the information about Lecarde Chronicles 2 and I'm checking this forum every day since Lecarde Chronicles 2 announced. I'll start to play it/check if there're possible glitch in the game/or do something at the exact moment of its release, if I can.

Since the last scene of Lecarde Chronicles 1 (Hard mode) happened in 1781 Segovia, Spain and I wonder two things: (1  What will happen in between 1776 and 1781 after the battle of LC1 finished, and (2  What caused the costume change of Efrain Lecarde in said timeline
