I absolutely love Death Battle. It, and Retsupurae, tends to be what takes up 99% of my YouTube hours.

Here's seven of my favorites, most of which are even gaming related.

Someone should convince them to feature a Castlevania character -- I favor Alucard or Dracula, for obvious reasons.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

How this thread is most likely to go from here:
  • Someone asks where is Goku vs Superman.
  • Someone else says it's the worst battle because the research was poorly done.
  • Someone comes in to point out that "research poorly done or not, Goku would've lost anyway."
  • Someone appears to demonstrate Goku's abilities in DBSuper despite the fact that the battle was done BEFORE DBSuper came out.
  • Someone chips in showing how Goku died from a simple laser beam.
  • Someone chips in showing how Superman is weak against a simple green rock.
  • Repeat

I love Death Battle too! I also like One Minute Melee. But most of my Youtube time is watching formal debates over various topics.

It'd be sweet to see Simon or Dracula on a Death Battle, but I think they'd lose. Just a hunch.

I intentionally left out both Goku vs Superman videos because while I agree with the research and ultimate conclusions of both, I am aware that posting them is utter flame-bait, and I'm not that stupid.

Hell, this comment alone probably qualifies as flame bait.

I think Dracula would probably lose, with the biggest justification being "he lost all those other times", and I admit his record is ultimately against him here. Maybe if they went with the Gabriel Belmont version, he'd stand a chance at winning, seeing as Gabe by comparison triumphed against every foe he faced, including LUCIFER. He amounts to a God-Killer type character, and could presumably take and dish out a lot more punishment in one of their scenarios. Alucard too could probably win, and if they went with the Lords version, it would be neat to see him wield the Crissaegrim and Dark Pain in the same battle (it always annoyed me that he couldn't in Revelations).

I requested Dracula vs. Ganon, but Ganon would probably win due to how they treated Cloud vs. Link

I heard that the first episode of season 3 is gonna be Dante vs. Bayonetta. Are we dealing with Cutscene!Dante or Gameplay!Dante here? :v
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.
^^
You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

If anything can be observed from their previous videos, a combination of both is almost certain. Unfortunately for Dante, the same would be true for Bayonetta for balance's sake.

For instance, in Darth Vader vs Doctor Doom, they had Darth Vader perform feats with the Force he never displayed in the films, said feats being exclusive to his gameplay portion in The Force Unleashed (at least until Star Wars: Rebels happened).

This reminds me of the Greatest Warriors show that was on air not too long ago. Or maybe it still is on air, I don't know. While it was entertaining for the most part, many on the show failed to do the nesissary in-depth research on the so-called battle contestants. And as a result the people on the show made themselves look like a bunch of arrogant idiots. Especially when they got into verbal scraps with one-another to see who had the biggest dick outta the bunch.

Arthur GnG vs a Belmont lets say Simon. Battle of the old hunters.

Was it on spike tv? It may have been deadliest warrior.

I don't know why but Yami yugi vs Red amuses me.

There is more locked in my mind but no go as of right now.

That show was deeply flawed in their simulations, as they only allowed a given combatant to use their iconic weapons rather than their full arsenal, and each weapon or tactic could only be employed once per simulation; as evidenced in "Nazis vs Vietcong" where the Nazis used a flamethrower once and its never addressed again, or in "Mexican Cartels vs Somali Pirates" where the Cartels fire their AK-47s ONCE early on and it's never seen again for the rest of the simulation.

Also, some of their matchups were just screwed up, like "Ninjas vs Vikings" in which the Ninja engages the Viking in open combat without using any stealth tactics that were, oh I don't know... THE ONLY THING NINJAS WERE EVEN CREATED TO DO.

By comparison, Death Battle is much fairer, as it allows fairly full arsenals (restricted only by the principle of "we'd be here all week if they used the actual full arsenal"), repeat tactics (watch how Kirby spams his eating people and transformations) and when they DO cycle through stuff, it's because the previous methods weren't working instead of an arbitrary "one-use limit". A great example is in "Gundam Epyon vs Tigerzord where Zechs hangs back and analyzes the White Ranger's tactics with the Zero System, and only goes all-out on his attack when the White Ranger ran out of new tricks and was forced to begin repeating old tactics, which meant that the Zero System could now account for and anticipate every capability the Tigerzord had (which is perfectly in-character for Zechs in Gundam Wing).

Death Battle has some major issues, but it's nowhere near as fundamentally screwed as Deadliest Warrior.

It was Samurai vs Viking and Ninja vs spartan. The viking vs samurai one was actually really good with and I can't forget the japanese version of edward norton  that bow he used I recall him nailing the viking in between the eyes not once but twice.
