These days Konami is not what it was in the 90's, they released another hack'n slash game such as LoS and I think this genre is being repetitive and Konami has to change the course of the series.

I would like to play a Witcher 3 - Undead Nightmare mix remake of Simon's Quest since I think W3 is what the SQ playability must be and UN manage the music that good that creates the atmosphere of a survival horror game.

If SQ would have an hypotetical remake then how about remaking Castlevania 1 being a prelude to SQ, just like Konami made with MGS5.

Another interesting remake would be Dracula's Curse playing the same way as Harmony of Despair in 2.5D or sprites/backgrounds, the difference between Harmony of Despair an this remake would be the team work so your teammates depend on you and you on them for healing, shielding, switching weapon in action, reaching points.

So what are yours, maybe someday our wishes will be released...

None. I'm tired of remakes and remasters, and if that was going to be Konami's answer moving forward, then I'd rather Castlevania die off completely.

Better to die than become what Final Fantasy did.

I'm not refering to HD remasters revisions, I'm talking about new concepts that is what is a remake not a remaster

The same applies though.

If they have new ideas, they should put them into a new game.

There is no excuse to rehash what's already been done.

There's not a lot you could do to improve the classic games. I have little problems here and there (the lives system in Bloodlines) but nothing that would require an entire remake. I'd like to see a compilation and re-release of all the classic titles, and Adventure ReBirth, but that's about it. For the most part the gameplay is perfect, the graphics are perfect and the music is perfect.

Konami went downhill since they labelled their "Lords of Shadow" title Castlevania.
LOS1 was a damn good game, it just wasn't CV.

I would like to see a remake of CV64/ LOD with the extra characters they were initially going to include as well as using the whip to swing like in SCVIV. Those games are really worthy of remakes (not just remasters).

These are my sentiments exactly.

At this point, Konami needs to remake itself before attempting any more games.  I'm afraid they would just throw a Castlevania game on mobile and make you pay to win.  But, if it were done right, I'd like to see a full on HD remake of SCIV.

This. So much this. Konami is incompetent at this moment in history. They can't do anything right with their IPs, let alone with their very own employees. The company either needs to be bought outright and reorganized, or collapse into oblivion with all their IPs being sold off to those who at least know what the hell they're doing.

Castlevania's classic formula works and it works well. Same with the Metroidvania formula although it has started to wear thin and needs a break. The LoS formula is not the way for the series to go. It is a rehashing of different elements from different games combined to create what we now see. And even more unfortunate was that the elements were not done in such a way as to make them stand on their own for the game itself. When playing Gabriel I felt as though I was still playing Kratos. When killing the Titans I felt as though I was killing the Colossus. I was not feeling Castlevania anywhere in LoS. Others will disagree and rightfully so. But this is how I felt about LoS and why iI do not considered it the best direction for Castlevania. I think having Simon's Quest done in a sandbox world similar to Elder Scrolls would be nifty. But it would need to recapture that campy Halloween feel in order to fully sell me on it. The romanticized gothic feel of the IGA CV games wouldn't do well for it.

@X I agree what you posted, Castlevania has lost its identity and I choose Simon's Quest as it has the potential to be an open world game even if Simon's Quest is not my favourite castlevania game, yeah Konami needs to be reorganized but it is the same for most of the old Japanese videogames companies, they are unable now to make a new entry in the series by themselves so they let another studios such as those European ones (they are talented) to make it.
And how about taking elements from Survival horror genre (not a Silent Castlevania Hill), making characters related to Transylvania not to Greek such as Bats, hiding ghosts, werewolfs and so on and many vampires all the types of them. I always wanted something like that but Castlevania games are made for teens to play nowadays, Konami has to made an adult look game that's why I like Nosferatu Wrath of Malachi so much.

An open world Simon's Quest with seamless day-night transitions and actual challenge factor is just what the doctor ordered.

Hell, a version of Simon's Quest where they just ran down the list of Egorapter's complaints and fixed them would be perfect.

In fact, I would just love to see From Software make a Castlevania game because I think it would come really close to what the first game was, just modernized.

I dunno about the open-world aspect anymore, too much padding nowadays, I guess we could go for a Darksiders 2-esque deal

I don't want another puzzlevania which DS relies too heavily upon.

Open world Castlevania is something that has previously not been explored. Given that open world still involves being constricted to certain geographical locations at certain points in the game I don't see why this can't work. I for one am sick of action/ platforming games having chapters and checkpoints, it can feel incredibly "on rails" and like a handholding workshop all the way through the game. (It works for some games like RE and DMC but it's not suited to every game.) I would like to see a Belmont traverse the wild and survive with certain towns being the point where you can recuperate and take breaks (even if it's one hun like Wygol village).

Otherwise they may as well completely remake CV LOD if they're going to make a game really linear. The 64 series stayed the most faithful to 2d classic Castlevania's.
