No it's not April 1st.
It's back with new HDMI ports, while it has shed some weight, and with 30 built in games (Castlevania 1 and 2 are included).
$60 for a pint sized NES that I can plug into a modern TV? Yes please. New controllers are $10? YES PLEASE. Being built and released by Nintendo instead of some shady third party company with questionable commitments to build quality and performance? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.
While I will absolutely be snagging one, Nintendo has not made it clear whether it will support the NES portion of their Virtual Console library (though that seems like a no-brainer). On that note, they haven't pointed out if it can connect to the internet at all, or have any mechanism to add games.
But, for any gamer on a budget, or simply someone who loves old games like most of us here at the Dungeon, this is a fantastic deal.
Still, why they included
Balloon Fight and not
Megaman 1 or
Castlevania 3 is beyond me. I mean, EVERYONE remembers
Balloon Fight, yeah?
Such a great game that was.
