Hey folks, have any of you tried using a Bluetooth Dongle and ps3 controller as a pc game pad? I was thinking about getting a dedicated PC wireless controller but my ps3 controller works fantastically with the better ds3 tool so tell me your experience. Was there any notable lag,  certain brands to avoid etc. I know a BT dongle will be much cheaper than a stand alone wireless pc controller as well lol.
But enough talk, HAVE AT YOU!!!!!!!!

Xbox dpads suck so bad though.

A wired PS3 controller setup, or honestly a wireless PS4 controller setup, works best for me. Noticed no lag on a wireless PS4 through bluetooth.

Wireless PS4 pad is probably the best one available right now. Next to it, an Xbox One pad or an Nvidia Shield controller.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

PS4>XBox 360 (wired)>Xbox One
For shooters, Just reverse diagram.

Thanks for all the input fellas. I have a ps4 controller as well but the built in bluetooth in my pc stopped working after the windows 10 update #facepalm. Would any standard BT dongle be good enough for a ps4 controller?

Xbox 360 pad is definitely cheaper than an Xbox One pad, but if you want a D-pad that isn't total shit, Xbox One is preferable.

I dont get all the xbox dpad hate. I used a 360 one from the time they were usable on a pc til I replaced it with the xbox one controller when it came it. Used literally daily... Never had any dpad issues

Dont get me wrong I like that ps4 controller (I use it with my phone and laptop) but its not the end all be all of controllers

The XBOX D-pad hate stems from it not being a very good D-pad to play classic games. That's where the hate is generally coming from. I can attest to that as I love to play classic games on my PC. However the design of the XBOX D-pad makes it tricky to play the classic games that are D-pad dependant. I'd rather have accuracy then to continually make a mistake with a D-pad that seems to "role" all over the place whenever I press it in a specific direction. The XBOX One D-pad is much better designed as it doesn't role all over the place, but is instead locked in place as all D-pads should be.

Xbox Dpads are just "okay".
Xbox 360 at least has a decent D-pad for fighters, not so good for platformers.
Xbox One is great for platformers (when drivers on PC don't fucking double input you, looking at you Megaman LC) But it's okay for fighters, granted the thumb technique is rather odd
